3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 jgd0608 (187) - Zeeland, Michigan, USA - JAN 9, 2007
12 oz Bottle. Pours a cloudy hazy orange. Smells of hops and citrus. Very nice, clean crisp, some nice citrusy flavors with good hop backbone. This could easily be a session beer, not to bitter, but yet tasty and easy to drink.

Served on tap at the Windbag in Helana Montana in a fucking frosted glass. Once this warmed up it was a decent a IPA with lots of everything including balance. Page 81 of Michael Jackson’s Great Beer Guide only 453 of 500 Classic Brews to go.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 marksahara (79) - Atlanta, Georgia, USA - JAN 6, 2007
12 oz. bottle and on draught at multiple locations. Pours a wonderfully clear golden yellow with ample crown. Decently good retention with good lacing. The aroma is rich with citrus and herbal hops, not too strong but not weak by any stretch of the imagination. It is exactly what I expect to smell in a good IPA. The taste screams of hops but it is more aggressive than offensive. There is a slight malty backbone but the hops features all the way through to the hoppy finish. For me, this has never been a bad decision to drink and I almost enjoy it like a session beer since the hops are strong enough to be an IPA but not too strong, like a DIPA or Imperial IPA that makes you pucker up. Finish is crisp and leaves such a pleasant aftertaste. This IPA is so perfectly balanced, IMO, even in the hop flavour (e.g. not too citrus, not too bitter). Overall, this is one of my favourite standard medium-bodied brews to drink at a bar or with pizza. And it’s relatively cheap and available in Atlanta too. Highly recommended whether or not you’re new to IPAs or if you’re a tried-and-true hophead.
4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 hopkop (8) - Alaska, USA - JAN 3, 2007 does not count
This is a great American IPA. The aftertaste is amazing. It blooms in your mouth.! Bridgeport secondary bottle conditions this ale, and you can see the yeast sediment in the bottom if you hold the bottle up to the light. Maybe this has something to do with why the result is sooo good.
BTW, the bottle says 5.5% alcohol, but I think this a low estimate. I had bottles of beer marked 1% higer and the Brridgeport; side-by-side in the freezer, and guess what? The other beer started to freeze first!
3.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20 zachh (23) - USA - DEC 21, 2006
I’ve had a few IPAs before, but I’ve never had one so hopped or double fermented. There is so much head in the bottle that it was amazing. The taste starts off like a typical IPA, but transitions into a nice grassy aftertaste.
This is definitely a good recommendation for an IPA.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20 troopie (1557) - Munchen an der Willamette, Oregon, USA - DEC 19, 2006
Bottle at just the right temperature. Poured clear gold with a white head. Aroma of hops and slight malt. Full in the mouth with a hoppy bite. Finish like the final note of ’A Day in the Life’. Wonderful. This is low enough in alcohol you could drink a crate in an evening and be able to dance.
3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 redlem (1203) - Ohio, USA - DEC 12, 2006
A clear gold color with a lasting white head. Strong citrus/grapefruit hop aroma. Very balanced taste. Very nice sessions beer.
4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 andyhite (308) - Murfreesboro, Tennessee, USA - DEC 3, 2006
erroding head, but intense hop aroma that carries over to the flavor. a little juniper is in the aroma too. i caught a little bit of fruit, and perhaps a faint nutty undertone in the flavor too, but i can’t quite place it. it’s a beer that is filled with complexity. there’s even some saltiness on the palate. golden-ish color, similar to weihenstephaner hefe weiss. it’s a very pleasant beer to enjoy anytime. it’s a smooth ipa.
