Orange pour with thick white head. Lots of bubbles rising to the top. Aroma of apricot, light citrus, grass. Fairly thin. Flavor is thin as well. Light bitterness, some citrus. A mild soapiness. Fairly high carbonation. Light bodied. Very smooth to drink, but not much else here.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 Hophazard (193) - San Francisco, California, USA - FEB 17, 2011
Resin on the nose, pungent and sappy. Hazy, light orange with white head. Orange citrus starts and transitions to a malty finish, which is neither crisp nor cloying. Low carbonation mixed with medium body makes it feel slick. Tastes more like a pale ale.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 satan165 (1003) - River Grove, Illinois, USA - FEB 10, 2011
aroma is lemon, fresh ocean breeze, clean grains, foliage. appearance is big carb, lasting film, hazed yellow pour. flavor is salty ocean, fresh cut grass, light peach notes. mouthfeel is pleasantly dry, big live fizziness scrubs the tongue.
2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Wolfenkopf (137) - Villa Park, Illinois, USA - FEB 9, 2011
The aroma is hoppy as one would expect, but it also has a citrus fruit edge to it. Nice, but not overt. The white head is pillowy for a time, settling only slighly and leaving laces. The body is a light foggy gold. The taste lacks a great range, obscured slightly by a good amount of carbonization. Considering the aroma, I would have thought there would have been more to this. The landing on the palate is light beyond the initial burn of bubbles, somewhat thin and a bit oily. This one does not push any barriers and I was somewhat disappointed, however, it is mildly enjoyable.

Some cereal malt aroma with floral/citrus hop. Appearance golden with some murkiness/haze. Decent bitterness nearly sour. Medium palate with long finish. Overlap not a bad IPA, but not Portland’s best, by far.
