3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 sandberglar (148) - Scottsdale, USA - SEP 13, 2010
Cloudy orangish yellow, with a beige head that dissipates quickly. Floral hop aroma. Well balanced maltiness with a hoppy finish. A decent budget IPA, but nothing I’d go out of the way for.

Bottle. A hazy amber brew with foamy off-white head. Scent is hops and a hint of caramel. Taste is citrus then hops. Good intro IPA. Very easy drinking.

12 ounce bottle. Pours a hazy amber color with a decent white head that lasts. Taste is of pine, hops, grapefruit and some malt. Similar aroma. Mild bitterness and dryness in the finish. Has a decent body that is slightly thin. Easy to drink, but kind of forgettable.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 tmoreau (1269) - Lombard, Illinois, USA - AUG 7, 2010
On tap at Lunar Brewing Co., Villa Park, IL. for one of Bridgeport’s intro to Chicago parties. Dispensed to a shaker with a orange/gold hue, modest, off white head foam, and almost a single wave of lacing with spots below. The aroma was sweet, orange, and grapefruit, with a little resin toward the back. The flavor was similar, with a sharp, narrow astringency to the hop bitterness, and a dry finish. The malt once again took a back seat to the hop, as in the Hop Czar, but light sweetness and citrus were more favorably evident in this one.
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 hoppyhampy (73) - , California, USA - JUL 28, 2010
12oz bottle poured into a pint glass. Beer was bottled on April 28th. Pours a cloudy, yellow-orange. Lots of carbonation and a half inch of head that dissipates fairly quickly and leaves some nice lacing. Bitter hops come out strong on the nose with a unique combination of lemon citrus and bananas. I wouldn’t say the hops are fresh and floral per say but Bridgeport may just be using a different blend than I am used to. The malt is just barely there in the background to round the scent out. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with just the right amount of carbonation. Light enough to be a session beer for someone who just can’t steer far from an IPA. The taste is hoppy and bitter but in that English ale style not the west coast style. This reminds me a lot of Belhaven’s Twisted Thistle IPA: not super bright, in-your-face hops but a welcome break from my steady diet of uber-hoppy IPAs. The bitterness is toned down enough and the malt comes through to give the finish a much cleaner, and mildly sweet quality than you would expect from the more en vogue IPAs. Overall very drinkable and an IPA lover’s ideal session beer.

This is a good IPA. Nice balance and easy to go back for a second sometime.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 onceblind (1349) - Denver, Colorado, USA - JUL 24, 2010
UPDATED: AUG 20, 2010 Had this one on tap @ The Irish Rover Pub in Denver. Clear straw-yellow pour with a nice frothy head that left behind some froth that lasted till the end of the drink. Smelled a like Clove and fresh pine mixed with generous hops, and thats pretty much exactly how it tasted. Some mild sweetness hit at the end during the finish. Medium bodied with mild carbonation made it a pretty refreshing IPA, something I have yet to say until this brew. Different, yet great enough to captivate me through the whole pint!
