Deep golden in color, BridgePort IPA has an assertive and fragrant hop character from the two full pounds of Cascade, Chinook, Goldings, Crystal and Ahtanum hops in every barrel.

Draft@ Pazzo: Good nose. Citrusy, straw. Orange color. Little head. Citrus orange/grapefruit some sweetness. Bitter dry clean finish. Good solid ipa. A tad thin, but I'm getting picky now.

UPDATED: SEP 2, 2004 Draught. Dark straw color and a nice foamy head with good retention. Leads with aggressive hop character but has some fruit qualities underneath, including a touch of sourness. Strong citrus quality. Good but not outstanding.

UPDATED: OCT 12, 2003 Dark golden color, large head, lots of lacing. Citrus hops, more well-balanced than most IPAs on the west coast, and one of the better ones.

I've had this on a few occasions now. Each time I was pleasantly surprised with this beer. Good color and aroma but lacking in the hops. I like IPA's with a little more hops but this one is definitely a good beer.

I love IPA's. And Bridgeport is the IPA I buy most often. They have done a wonderful job: the nose is heavy with citrusy hops; the first taste packs a whallop; the tiniest hint of metallic taste is followed by a rich crisp and bright middle; the after taste is gently bitter and perfectly dry. It goes great with most foods; it is refreshing after a hot summer sun; and it never fails to please the palate.

Light-hazy golden with medium/large off-white head. Aroma is floral, slightly sweet, light earthy. Taste is floral/earthy bitter throughout. Medium body. Nothing fancy, just a solid old-fashioned straightforward English-style IPA.

Cask conditioned and hand poured. Deep golden color with nice head and lots of very nice lacing. A pleasant citrus hoppy nose. Very smooth blend of floral hops balanced just right. A very fine IPA!

Hazy yellow, much lighter than expected in an IPA. Sticky head clings to the side of the glass. Nose is pine, some mustiness that's a bit like rotting garbage though (oddly enough) not unpleasantly so. Constrasted to the nose, the flavor is surprisingly sweet and fruity. Begins with a crispness like apple juice with some grapefruit tartness, malts then assert with a mild nuttiness and some caramel/toffee character.

Misty gold, smallish head that doesn't hang in - looked real pretty in the glass that was backlit by a ray of sun. Good IPA aroma, hops are more laid back when you taste it. Well balanced and quite refreshing. I've been buying this occasionally to have on hand for a session brew, works very well for that purpose.

Thanks to elnadeau for this one. Appearance: hazy golden colored with a quickly dissappearing white head. Aroma: Hops, citrus & piney Flavor: Extremely pleasant. The hops are there, but not over the top like a west coast IPA (even though this is from Oregon). It's not as subdued as an APA. I'd say that this is a good session IPA
