UPDATED: JAN 21, 2003 Crips and clean, just like a new dollar bill. A liitle lighter than I expected an IPA but a very good brew that I would drink again, when I can get it on draft.

A very sharp taste. Heavy handed hops. Malt comes through but never competes with the hops

One of my favorite session beers, this IPA has a wonderful nose, dark amber color and a wonderful chewy malt character and a really nice hop finish. I love this beer, wish I had one right now.

UPDATED: APR 5, 2011 I have been drinking Bridgeport IPA for about 6-7 years, so have had it on hundreds of occasions, mostly from the bottle. Around Portland you can find this beer at almost every bar, from typical sports bars to downtown fine dining. I have had old bottles, with pale metallic and plastic cooked flavors, and I have had fresh, sharp, biting hop bottles. On draft is where this beer stands out. Properly stored and served at the right temperature, the balance and crispness is phenomenal. Sweet honey and lemon flavors, and slightly burnt malt backing which complements the light, ESB-like hop usage... this is no hop monster, but it shouldn’t have to be. I have had this on cask at the brewery, where it climbs up another level over CO2... rich, sweet and smooth caramel and honey malt flavors, with a delicate bright spot of sweet and aromatic cascade hops. A wonderful IPA and something which I always enjoy drinking. Recent samples on draft have had a more estery smell and taste, with pineapple and lemon esters present. Overall and exceptionally classic IPA.

Pours a medium amber with an adequate head. Sweet malt nose. Starts kinda sweet quickly followed by a big grapefruit hop bite that tapers off just as fast into a citrus sweet aftertaste.

A very enjoyable IPA styled brew from the good folks at Bridgeport in Portland, OR. Kicked back with a couple of these while enjoying some East Indian Food and the pairing was super. Bridgeport’s IPA has a very well rounded IPA complete with plenty of hops and malts that make this one a true pleaser. Pours a nice golden color with a decent, but fast diminishing head. Bridgeport has a number of bitter ales available now including this, the ESB, and their very enjoyable Pintale Ale. The IPA fits nicely with the other two and is an extremelyeasy drinking beer.

There is absolutely no better "English" -style IPA. This is far different from the "West Coast" IPAs that you get throughout Oregon. A noble, brilliant tasty English ale. This wins tons of World Medals, and it is obvious - this is one of the finest IPAs in the world.

Citrus hop flavors are the pick of the day here: orange, pineapple, mango; with a bit of piney goodness thrown in too. Everything was great, except the palate seemed very watery. By the end, it seemed like I was drinking the McDonald’s Orange drink that they serve at kid’s parties. very fruity indeed.

Aroma is a nice propper amount of hops and bitterness. Looks like a tasty IPA, light head with surprisingly attractive lacing. Tastes just awesome, would go great with some spicy food. Smooth crisp, slightly bitter finish with a positive overall impression. This was just a random buy at the store too! lol
