3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: OCT 12, 2003 Dark golden color, large head, lots of lacing. Citrus hops, more well-balanced than most IPAs on the west coast, and one of the better ones.

I've had this on a few occasions now. Each time I was pleasantly surprised with this beer. Good color and aroma but lacking in the hops. I like IPA's with a little more hops but this one is definitely a good beer.

I love IPA's. And Bridgeport is the IPA I buy most often. They have done a wonderful job: the nose is heavy with citrusy hops; the first taste packs a whallop; the tiniest hint of metallic taste is followed by a rich crisp and bright middle; the after taste is gently bitter and perfectly dry. It goes great with most foods; it is refreshing after a hot summer sun; and it never fails to please the palate.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Light-hazy golden with medium/large off-white head. Aroma is floral, slightly sweet, light earthy. Taste is floral/earthy bitter throughout. Medium body. Nothing fancy, just a solid old-fashioned straightforward English-style IPA.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Cask conditioned and hand poured. Deep golden color with nice head and lots of very nice lacing. A pleasant citrus hoppy nose. Very smooth blend of floral hops balanced just right. A very fine IPA!

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Hazy yellow, much lighter than expected in an IPA. Sticky head clings to the side of the glass. Nose is pine, some mustiness that's a bit like rotting garbage though (oddly enough) not unpleasantly so. Constrasted to the nose, the flavor is surprisingly sweet and fruity. Begins with a crispness like apple juice with some grapefruit tartness, malts then assert with a mild nuttiness and some caramel/toffee character.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Misty gold, smallish head that doesn't hang in - looked real pretty in the glass that was backlit by a ray of sun. Good IPA aroma, hops are more laid back when you taste it. Well balanced and quite refreshing. I've been buying this occasionally to have on hand for a session brew, works very well for that purpose.

3.3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Thanks to elnadeau for this one.
Appearance: hazy golden colored with a quickly dissappearing white head.
Aroma: Hops, citrus & piney
Flavor: Extremely pleasant. The hops are there, but not over the top like a west coast IPA (even though this is from Oregon). It's not as subdued as an APA. I'd say that this is a good session IPA

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Hazey orange color. Great, offwhite head with nice lasting laceing. Large hop nose, somewhat resiny. Medium body. Fruity, crisp hop flavors with a decent malt balance. Not a total hop assault but a well constructed IPA. Easy drinkin.

4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Slightly hazy golden colour with a very subtle orange tint. A nice frothy white head stays on top for a while. Very high a.a. hops were used in the dry-hop process for this beer, as the aroma is mouth-watering! It smells similar to the beer I brewed with Gallena and Northern Brewer, so they might have used one or both of those in this beer. Some citrus is noticeable as well in the aroma. The taste is initially hopppy with citrus highlights, and subsides to a nice subtle malty palate. Medium bodied...perfect for the style with a great aftertaste that isn't too bittering, nor too clean. This is an IPA to drink every day of the week, not as strong as the Stone, but not as weak as a DFH 60 Minute. One of the better IPA's i've had, and this is my favourite style. Worth trying to find if you might be able to find it. It's very common on the west coast, but if you are in Washington, try going to the Brick...they are supposed to keep it on stock, but every time I asked for it, they didn't have it. The back of my botte read: 10003, but I don't know what that translates into. I bought my 12 ounce bottle from Total Beverage in Thornton (Denver), Colorado.
