3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Medium gold color, small head. Malty and very hoppy. Full flavored IPA. Nice balance. Round mouthfeel. Smooth. Hoppy yet not too bitter. Firkin style beer, secondary fermentation in the bottle, gives this beer a smoother carbonation. Finish is clean. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
One of the best heads I’ve ever seen on an IPA. Other than that, I did not like this beer so much. The only other beer I have had with more grapefruit in aroma and flavour was Rogue Brutal Bitter. This tasted and smelled like ruby red, but surprisingly lacked bitterness almost completely. Sweet. I don’t like grapefruit juice. But if you do, you may like this beer.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
One of my favorite IPA’s. I like the citrus aroma, and the way it comes through on the palate. It’s pleasantly hopped, but it doesn’t blow you away.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
5/09/02: Slightly fruity quality to the hop flavor and aroma...fine golden color...Pleasant initial hoppy explosion dissipates rapidly; finishes dry...just enough malt for good balance. On balance quite good but lacking that Nth degree of distinctiveness. Re-Rate 8/14/02: Fruit tones in aroma more in evidence this time around, and hazy late-afternoon-golden-sun color is very fine indeed. Good head & lace---a very handsome ale. Citrusy quality also more evident this time in initial flavor burst and in finish. Still wish it had a little more ’bottom-end’ support for balance, but this is still very flavorful stuff.

A better than average IPA. Good and hoppy with a nice malty character. Certainly not my first choice, but will be drinking this one again for sure.

mmmmmm grapefruitty hoppiness. I tried this beer with akinm and we both agreed that this is an IPA that will please just about everybody.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Great thick white head atop a wonderful IPA. Pine city, but also rich and creamy and a bit malty. I wish I had a lot of these. Perfect with clam and shrimp linguine.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Clear orange color w/particles of yeast floating around. Moderate, lacey head. This is a great IPA! All hops with a subtle malt finish. This IPA is everything Redhook wants to be. Drink this if you want to know what an IPA tastes like.

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
This is what I like to taste in an IPA. Darker flavor, but not too much hops or bitterness. One of Bridgeport’s better beers.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
A very satisfying IPA. There are a few that are better, but I will still drink this over most other micro IPA’s. Full copper color and a spice and citrus aroma that can’t be beat. What puts this one in a tier above the rest is that it has a good malt character to balance out the robust hop bitterness.
