truegen (137), Puyallup, Washington, USA Aug 14, 2007 12 oz. bottle. Pours a pale, cloudy gold, with a fair head to start. Really tangy citrus and spruce aroma. Flavor also carries the citrus tones, plus an herbal undertone of honey/heather. As a lightly bitter IPA, it’s a great summer beer, and the lower alcohol content adds to the appeal in this regard. It’s not a tongue-curler, but it has its uses.
stchloe (124), Portland, Oregon, USA Sep 7, 2008 I dislike this beer for more reasons than its absurd popularity. First, not an IPA. Second, flavorless. dkoonce (750), People’s Republic of Athens, Ohio, USA Aug 21, 2008 Bottle. Stale beer aroma, perhaps the bottle is a bit old. Hops, with a floral, citrus aroma dominating over pine. Hazy brown, with a huge loose white head. Heavy body with deep malt flavor that is stronger than the hops, which fade quickly. Biddle_Brau (135), Midland Park, New Jersey, USA Aug 21, 2008 Hazy golden with thin white head. Big citrus hop aroma. Dry hop flavor, somewhat soapy. Dry aftertaste
cbeers21 (384), Miami, Florida, USA Aug 21, 2008 golden orange with whispy, pillowy head which quickly fades leaving a lasting ring on the glass. Piney aromas, citrusy grapefruits and pineapple are strong scents. A bittering hop flavor profile features dusty piney touches which gradually yield to a fruited slightly burnt maltiness. Slightly watery body provides relief and allows for an easy drinkability. Not overly complex or supremely balanced, but a solid brew for sure. rthbass (21), Vancouver, Washington, USA Aug 17, 2008 On tap everywhere in Portland.
Great IPA! Very balanced. Beautiful aroma! Never fails to impress! You can find this almost anywhere and it’s a great representation of a Northwest IPA.
