Ungstrup (11930), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jun 5, 2008 Draft. A milky golden beer with a thin white head. The aroma is sweet citrusy with light notes of malt. The flavor is sweet malty with strong notes of citrus and grapefruit, leading to a dry bitter finish. Papsoe (11421), Frederiksberg, Denmark Mar 22, 2006 (On tap) Slightly hazy amber with a creamy, off-white head leaving some very smooth and delicate laces. Nose full of caramel and some aroma hops. Medium body with lots of fruit - some great peachy accents in particular. Hoppy - but not overly so - finish. Simple and very drinkable IPA. 210306 Oakes (7047), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Dec 5, 2005 Hazy golden amber with slow moving tiny bubbles and an inch thick bleached white head. Very nice appearance. Hops are a little musty in the aroma, with peachy accents and some pine as well. Moderate bitterness...body again a bit musty, I guess from the yeast. This dulls the palate a bit more than I’d like. There is an even balance between simplistic but well-extracted pale malt base and a somewhat generic hoppiness. Using so many varieties is not something I’m a fan of...the hop character becomes indistinct. I’m getting shades of this and that, but nothing specific. The finish is dry, a bit harsh with that yeastiness. MiP (6723), Flensburg, Germany Jun 20, 2004 Bottle. Slightly cloudy, OK head. Aroma is great, flowery and fruity. The same goes for the flavour which is also flowery and fruity but also quite bitter. argo0 (6332), Washington DC, USA Sep 10, 2003 Light-hazy golden with medium/large off-white head. Aroma is floral, slightly sweet, light earthy. Taste is floral/earthy bitter throughout. Medium body. Nothing fancy, just a solid old-fashioned straightforward English-style IPA.
