I was at the Crab Pot in Seattle and this was on tap. I didn’t think much of it. So I got a bottle when I was home and re-tried it. I have to say there are better IPAs. Nothing special.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 sickassmick (183) - Concord, California, USA - FEB 23, 2008
hoppy but not too intriguing nose. Pour is cloudy orange with a small fine head that dissipates quickly leaving small spotty lacing. flavor is a little lackluster. Pretty watery on the front. Probably not as big on the malt side as most IPAS. The flavor is pretty weak, could pass better as a APA. Really not a bad beer but I’m looking for a lot more depth from this style of beer. Not bad, not really good.
Cheers!

Hazy orange with a medium sized head. Caramel, chocolate maltiness as well as light citrus. Smells a bit like a blueberry muffin with some barnyard skunk. Light-med sweet and bitter. Medium body, malty thick texture and a hoppy astringent finish. Not a fave.

12 ounce bottle. Pours a hazy yellow with a thin white head. Slight floral hop aroma and grains. Slight grapefruit bitterness wth a thin body.I’m thinking this bottle may have been sitting around for a while, not much hop flavor at all. Not impressed.

Bottle and on tap. A mild India Pale Ale. Balanced and crisp. Body is a bit thin. Light bitterness towards the end.

Not so good. Weak, the hops are all back end and too bitter. Not so sure why this is not considered a pale ale.

Hazy golden hue wears a sticky irregular white head. Mysteriously mellow aroma, highly subdued for a pacific northwest classic. Hops come out salty, earthy and sweaty, centennial perhaps. At the same time, an oldish yeast residue give it a cheesy note that I’m not quite comfortable with. This might not be the best bottle on the market I fear. The citrus I expected is so light that I’d barely call it a hint. Phosphoric suggestions clear the case. Highly subdued in mouth as well. It joyously displays an expanding carbonation amongst an honest medium body, but feels globally watery, dry and salty. Rather than furnishing hop flavours, it handles the tongue hop bitterness. Disappointing.
2.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Immy (1948) - Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA - MAR 5, 2006
12 oz bottle at gputty’s Friday tasting. Hazy yellow with a medium off white head. Nose is not promising - sweet, floral acetone, like my wife’s scented nail polish remover. Some resiny hops hidden in there. Flavor is a tiny bit of malt and weak hops. Miniscule bitter finish. More like a weak, garden variety east coast IPA than something from Oregon. Blah.

Appearance: Dark yellow body with a bubbly white-colored head.
Smell: Musty, pine-scented aroma.
Taste: Hmm. My main concern is the lack of malt to balance the hops. All that’s left is an awful generic bitterness. Any decent taste is masked by it, as is any compulsion to have a second taste.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied, with a fizzy carbonation.
Drinkability: In short, let’s just say my evening at Taco Mac consisted of many, many fine, fun, delicious beers, and one really bad one.
2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 beerbuzzmontreal (3428) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - JUN 14, 2005
Pours a golden color with a thin creamy head. Weak aroma of hops, maybe yeast too. Weak and boring flavor of hops and some sweetness, very bitter finish. Medium body, watery texture, moderate carbonation. This beer is all hops bitterness but not much in term of hops flavor, I don’t understand, this is supposed to be a good IPA but what I taste is boring, bland and downright weak. Not worthy of a beer from Oregon at all.
