KINGPIN is a full-flavored, red-colored ale that uses a rarely-grown Willamette Valley Hop varietal known as Liberty Hops from fourth generation hop farmer John Annen of Annen Bros. Farm in Silverton, Oregon. Jeff and his team of brewers also used rye and caramel malt leading to a unique flavor profile; triple-hopped for bitter aroma and a unique dry-hopped character.

355ml bottle from Warners at the Bay Bottle Shop. This is my first beer from Bridgeport and itís a cracker. Strong bronzed copper colour with a low level layer of foam. Lots of caramel, toffee and malt in the aroma and it really fills the nose. Full flavoured and very malty with a great flavour that hits all parts of the mouth.

Wonderful, sweetish aroma. Sweet, malty, caramel? Hoppy - with a hoppy finish. I like this one quite a bit. I think itís underrated currently.

Nice beer! Has a woody barleywine aroma to start. Really awesome color. Super clean and crystal clear with a beautiful frothy head. Itís like barleywine light. Bitter caramel and toasty. It has a unique enticing bitter flavor. You know how some beers make you think about pussy? This beer has that quality. Sex in a glass. Itís that aroma.

Bottle at Cookie. Great malty ale. Aromas of caramel, citrus, and nuts. Taste is sweet and bitter, with long length. Palate is velvety, and medium bodied. Red, with a frothy head.

Wow -- very nice red ale. Surprisingly sweet aroma. Sweet malt flavor at the front, which quickly segues to a dry finish that leaves a lingering bitterness. Interesting, complex, and recommended for this style! A- ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

One of my favorite beers. It is a well constructed double red ale that takes some time initially to get use to, but when poured in a glass lets out its full aroma. As a ginger I am always partial to Reds and as a long time fan of Grand Theft Auto I canít help but like the gangster appeal. For a mainstream widely distributed beer you can tell that a lot of effort was put into this beer and the double filtration is very apparent with its clean taste both initially and afterwards. It has an extremely filling taste that is sour and sweet at the end. Overall for the price I rank this as one of my favorite beers. Just be careful as the abv (7.5) can sneak up on you :P.
