COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
KINGPIN is a full-flavored, red-colored ale that uses a rarely-grown Willamette Valley Hop varietal known as Liberty Hops from fourth generation hop farmer John Annen of Annen Bros. Farm in Silverton, Oregon. Jeff and his team of brewers also used rye and caramel malt leading to a unique flavor profile; triple-hopped for bitter aroma and a unique dry-hopped character.

Great look, but more orange than red. Cookie dough aroma with less hops than desired. Good brew. Good slam.

From QC. Clear amber-brown with thin, finely carbonated cream-white head and legs. Smells of nutty malt, caramel, slightly spicy and musty. Tastes similar but with very bitter hop. Dry, very spicy finish. Body is medium with some slickness. Not bad - taste is a bit thin and unbalanced with such bitterness and spiciness.

Bottle from QClub at home. Translucent copper pour with thin foamy head. Aroma is very nutty (almost like toast) with a slight bit of spicy hops. Taste is similarly very deep and nutty, followed by earthy hops (English?) bitterness. Almost a bit tart. Not bad but probably wouldn't get again.

Red-brown pour with a tight, pale brown head. Heavy caramel aroma, a little floral. Taste is also dominated by caramel, but some citrus bitterness cuts through it.

Very malty, bitter and hoppy. Have had better but very solid at over 7%...almost like a dark

Aroma is rich caramel malt and floral citrus aroma hopping, hint of roast. Appearance is crystal clear orange brown with small off white head that dissipates quickly. Taste is rich caramel malt and citrus aroma hopping forward. Pronounced hop bitterness keeps what would otherwise be a very malty beer balanced. Hint of rye lingers with the sweet caramel malt. Palate is medium light and crisp. Light on the tongue for the amount of flavor present. Overall I really like this beer. It is unique and works IMO. Wish there were more well hopped ambers like this. Could use a hint more body though.

Pours and retains a solid head. Got a sweat citrus punch. Then there is toffee and biscuit. Little bitterness but just nice. And maybe a plum edge late. Nice. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Picked this up Monday night at the COOP. Poured into my Payette Black Friday mini goblet.. 1/2" white head dies quickly leaving no cap and no lacing... the brew is very clear amber. Nose shows toasty malts and hints of caramel with some grassy/herbal hoppiness. A little bitterness up front.. toasty malt essence in the middle with a lite caramel element... drier than I would have guessed by the nose... Hops mirror the aroma but are certainly balanced, surprisingly so, given the "triple hopped" moniker :-) The body is lite/medium with good carbonation. Nice beer... I should give Bridgeport more attention.

12 oz. bottle from Wilbur’s. Appearance: Three fingers light oatmeal-brown head, amber red color, clear, head diminishes moderately slow, good lacing. Aroma: light caramel, light floral, light skunky. Palate: Medium body, average carbonation, decent bitter finish, sticky texture. Taste: caramel sweetness really shines through, with bitterness quietly building and taking over. Overall, aroma throws me off, but tastes are there and so is the palate.

pours a copper color that had a lot of smoke and a thick white head. the aroma is malts, bready, and floral hops. the flavor is more of the same. there is quite a big hop kick up front but its not overpowering. in the taste you pick up some citrus and pine. very good beer.
