Generous amounts of NW pale, caramel and chocolate malts were blended with English Goldings kettle hops and Willamette Valley Cascade and Chinook Hopjack hops. It was brewed in small batches, fermented, and then aged on American white oak. The oak aging imparted caramel and vanilla flavors to complement the bold and smooth malt flavors and unique hop character of this true NW ale.

Bottle from Crabapple Bottle Shoppe. Caramel, dark fruit, mild earthy hop presence, oak, vanilla, medium high sweet. Really dug it.

Pretty tradiitonal red ruddy barleywine. A little on the simple side with an aroma of malt, alcohol and sugar, but it tasted tamer than it smelled. A nice brew if you are a barleywine fan, but nothing that stands out."

22oz bottle in a tulip. Pours deep, hazy brown with a lacy, off-white head. Aroma of caramel and toffee and pale malts, light chocolate, alcohol, floral and bitterhops, and some light oak/vanilla. Flavor the same with not the best blend. Average texture. Not the best barley wine.

Bridgeport puts out stuff that never wows. And this barleywine is no exception. A plum hue. Slightly foamy head. You can smell the malts too much. A bit carbonated as well. Has a flat buttery scotch taste. The wash down is dry and bitter. Nothing really extraordinary about it. Kinda boring and typical.

Imparts aromas of caramel, toffee, fruit, vanilla and a touch of oak. A nice clear deep burgundy with candy red highlights. Flavor similar to the aroma and sweet with decent body.

Dark fruit, vanilla, caramel. Pours cloudy orange tinted caramel brown with a light off-white head. Dark fruit balanced with a bright (floral?) flavor. Velvety mouthfeel. This is a thick feeling beer with a lot of flavor. Smooth with a hint of esters on the finish and just a bit of edgy bitterness to keep things interesting.

Bomber from Greenís - Buford, Bottling #13. Pours a hazy dark amber color with a thin tan head. Fair head retention. Aroma of toffee, caramel, vanilla, spicy hops, mild candied fruits. The taste is citrus hops, toffee, vanilla, oak, nougat, a bit of chocolate. Medium bodied, prickly booze, moderate carbonation, good balance. Nice beer.

Bomber. Pours a nice bright reddish mahogany color with a medium creamy beige head. The aroma is sweet citrus, oak. A nice robust flavor: tannins, oak, fresh oranges and mellow marmalade hops, sweet sugary dense middle, again more fresh ígreení oak flavors. Quite fresh and big tasting. This isnít a Uinta BW, but it is quite good.

Dark brown /ruby with large bubbly foam. Mellow oak barrel, wine-like aroma. Heavy on the malts, slightly syrupy with some hops on the finish. Finish is slightly dry. Warming without burning.

Deep translucent amber, with lots of small bubbles and an inch of tan head. Aroma is rich with toffee and plum, and woody vanillin notes are prominent in taste. Alcohol is there, but not overbearing, and itís surprisingly dry into the finish, perhaps because of the oaky astringency. $6/22oz (mom & grandma leave PDX)
