Draft. A pitch black beer with a rim of brown head. The aroma is sweet malty with light notes of roasted malt. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of roasted malt as well as lighter notes of sweet malt (pilsner or the like), leading to a bitter finish. The body is thin.
2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 Ernest (5183) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - APR 6, 2002
Head is initially average sized, frothy, off-white, fully diminishing. Body is dark orange-brown, dense tiny and small particles. Aroma is lightly malty (caramel, dark chocolate), lightly hoppy (citrus - orange), notes of clove and plum. Flavor is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is moderately acidic, lightly bitter. Light to medium body, watery texture, fizzy carbonation, moderately astringent. Aroma is pleasant enough, but it’s got the usual Amerimicro trappings: bitingly sour, astringent, watery, and fizzy.

Tap @ brewery. They called this "Firkin Ale" at the brewery. Some roasted character. Dark brown color. Fairly bland and watery porter.

Color and everything is right, even the carmelly sweet aroma, after that it really falls apart. Watery, very carbonated. Sweet finish. I with Buck_Dich here, while its not awful, did this beer really need to be created?

Thanks to Gregory for this bottle. Good porter. Drinkable. Didn't really have anything that stood out. Was missing the roasty flavor.
2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 BBB63 (5023) - La Porte, Indiana, USA - APR 25, 2004
Reddish brown with fading fizzy head and some lace. The aroma hints of fruits, roasted malts, and smoke, faint. The taste hints of cherry and berry, hazelnut, and biscuit malts. Some lactic and grassy undertones with smoke on the finish. Lacks depth and the mouthfeel is watery and fizzy. A below average porter, just missing a little of everything.

This is a lighter porter with dough and chocolate aromas, traces of dark malt and hardy hops in the slightly sour medium-light body. It has a zippy sour-bitter finish.

light brown sugar aroma and some malt. Pours amber brown, low tan head. Has a harshness to it that isn't appealing. Weak body and flavour. Yuck...

Oh my lord this was a bad beer. I couldn’t drink it. Thankfully it was only a taster, but still. Tastes like soap, straight up.
