Bridgeport brews another fine winner of all my tastebuds! As with many of their other beers, it is a consistent, full-bodied taste that is expected and savoured. No strange undesirable hints of wierdom, and a good clean palate with which to start on the next.

On tap at the brewpub. Dark brown with a mocha cream head. Nutty, smokey, roasted malt, dry, some bitter chocolate and coffee grinds, clean finish, mild carbonation and easy / pleasing to drink. Well done.

3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
On tap @ Bridgeport Brewing. Pours black with creamy finger thick mocha head. Aroma is burned malts, coffee and smoke. Body is average with a quite light texture and soft carbonation. Flavour is sweet with roasted malts and caramel, but not too much more.

On tap at BridgePort. Black with a thin tan head. Roasty chocolate aroma. Taste of roasted grains, dry, with slight berry notes. Thin body. Very respectable porter.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap at the brewery. Pours a deep chocolate hue with a medium white head. A sweet nose of light roast some dark fruit. Pretty big flavors for how light it is. Sour metallic flavor, chocolate, mostly dry. Good.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
This is a decent london-style brown porter in a world where london-style brown porters can be harder and harder to find. On tap at the brewery, it poured a nice dark brown with slight ruby highlights and a nice two finger head of light-tan foam. It has a medium roasted aroma with notes of chocolate and a bit of fruity esters. The medium roasted aroma comes through in the flavor as it is not as big or as bold as many a robust porter nor does it have the sharp acridness in that of a stout. The roast instead becomes part of the background along with a subtle nutty note along with a hint of earthy, yeasty quality. What’s great about this beer is the relative absence of a sharp caramel or candy-like sweetness. This seemingly keeps it a bit lighter on the palate and more drinkable.

Ok at best... Guess I’m more of a stout guy. Maybe a strange aftertaste? Not sure, but for whatever reason not 100% sold
