COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is a blend of whiskey barrel aged Porter with a batch of unbarreled Stout. It has a maximum of roasty malt flavor, hop bitterness, wood/oak overtones and bourbon-vanilla notes.

22oz bottle from Liquid Solutions. Pours a deep brown with a huge tan head. Not much bourbon on the nose, very well balanced though. A good mix of coffee, chocolate, toffee and vanilla round things out.

22 oz. bottle - pours thin, light brown with slight tan head; sweet, roasty aromas are very baltic-ish; vanilla and chocolate; body is quite thin and flat; texture seems to be the most apparent influence of the barrel aging; quite rich and sweet overall; very nice and one i’ll be enjoying again

Bottle.

I admit it: this one I bought totally based on the label. Both a raven and a pair of 3D glasses, how could I resist. After the disaster that was stumptown tart, I had quite low expectations for the contents of the bottle --- but goodness was I pleasantly surprised. Dark pour, nice tan head, roasty aroma with grapes and a hint of smoke, flavor driven not by the bourbon but rather by the wine casks, chocolate and red wine, a vinous porter on overdrive. Dang, this is really good. Serious props to Bridgeport. Oh, and cool label!

Courtesy JMFG. Black. Tan head. Dry roast, oak, cocoa, oak spice, milk chocolate, dried dark fruits, bittersweet finish. Medium/full body, smooth carbonation. Very good strong porter with just the right amount of oak presence.

22oz bottle courtesy of CaptainCougar. Black with a wispy head. Tart wine barrel and dark chocolate aroma. Mainly dark chocolate flavors, a bit dusty, some light vinous character and dry wood. Medium-light in body with crispy carbonation. I think the barrels are thinning it out a bit. Though a little lacking in body, the flavors were a cool combo and the package came out quite drinkable.

Bottle from Liquid Solutions. Dark brown/black pour with a decent tan head. Aromas of toasted (not burnt) malt with chocolate and darkish fruit. A little woody astringecy. Nice feel. Full bodied with creamy carbonation. Black Albert it’s not, but the flavors are not dissimilar. Finishes lightly sweet, but off-set by toast and light hop. It’s one of the better dark ales in America today. Top 50, say. Betcha.

Almost opaque dark red-brown color with a sparse tan head. Dark chocolate and sour cherries on the aroma. Burnt coffee, and dark chocolate on the taste. Semi-sweet with a lingering burnt finish. Good brew. The label is great, however not as good as Coraline.

have enjoyed this in the bottle, but this particular tasting was on cask in a firkin @ Baily’s taproom. pours a pitch black with a nice brown bubbly head. Aroma of chocolate and malts. Tastes of slight hops, some roasted malts, and coffee. Great porter on cask!
