Commercial Description:
Ropewalk is a mellow, malt-driven amber that dances a subtly sweet line. The balance of Crystal malt with a subtle dose of Northwest hops delivers a refreshing ale that makes for a great session beer. Originally brewed to mark our 20th anniversary, Ropewalk – which literally means “a long narrow building where rope is made” – is a tribute to our building’s roots as a rope factory, while also celebrating feats of daring everywhere.

Bottle. Poured deep amber with thin fast dissipating white head. Faint aroma. Modest body notes of malt caramel and water. Light hoppish finish. Fairly ordinary beer.

This was a weird beer. Poured a thin white head that dissipated quickly. Slightly darker in color than icea tea. Limited smell, mostly malt with a very neutral mouthfeel. Didn’t pick up much with these two senses. Sweet malty finish that eventually turned to slightly bitter in the finish. Nothing special about this beer until the finish. It’s actually not a particularly good beer until the sweet then bitter finish, which saves this beer making it drinkable

Bottle. Not the worst beer ever, but certainly not one you could pick from a lineup, which is what you’ll have when in Portland.

Amber pour with small white head that lingers on and on. Funky aroma and even funkier taste, maybe some fruit and nuts but hard to discern. Very disappointing.

Draught. High fluffy off-white lasting head. Clear amber body. Honey apple pear aroma and flavor with little hops bitterness, low carbonation and a long sweet aftertaste.
