2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Brouwerij (501) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - JUN 16, 2013
Bottle. Pours a clear red copper with fine off-white head. Aroma is fruity, fruity, citrus and peach, mild rye stink, slight hop, laundry detergent. Flavor is also very fruity, juicy, fruit punch with the mildest rye bite, mildly bitter aftertaste. Moderate carbonation, medium-light body, juicy texture. This is a fruity beer with minimal rye, somewhat of a mess.
2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20 Tortman18 (105) - Batavia, Illinois, USA - JUN 14, 2013
Pours a very clear amber/copper with a finger of off white head that lingers and leaves a lot of lacing. Nose is very malty with a some sweetness. Green apple and pear. There is a slight hop note, but it’s overpowered by a weird stale aroma. Mouth is not very pleasent to me Very grainy that is bitter and tart. There’s a hops presence, but once again overpowered by a strange bitterness. Some caramel and sweetness.

If you are hop friendly then this is a drinkable and refreshing beer! Overall, I think Bridgeport has done a nice job with this seasonal and it has been my go-to beer this Spring!
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Stew41 (1580) - Woodend, AUSTRALIA - JUN 2, 2013
$7 pot at Great Northern, Good Beer Week.
Not a patch on the SN. Well made and moderately hoopy beer but lacks distinction. Some toffee malts but don’t get much else. Too subdued for its own good.

UPDATED: JUN 8, 2013 Pours a clear, ruby amber with limited white head. Aroma is sweet malts, a little fruit and spice. Flavour brings out some spice, citrus and floral hops. Finishing on the bitter side.
2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 6/20 adnielsen (6532) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - MAY 24, 2013
Bottle @ home picked up at Wilbur’s Fort Collins. Pours a hazy, burnt orange appearance with a big light brown head. There are spicy rye malt and chocolate notes to the nose but there’s also this funky, fruity, almost bubblegum like smell to the aroma which is strange. Spicy, rye, caramel, somewhat bready, bitter, weird grassy/herbal hoppy flavor. Really kind of an unpleasant beer that I really didn’t want to finish.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Strykzone (3866) - Wood River, Illinois, USA - MAY 19, 2013
Bottle from Hayduke. We had it together via facebook chat. This poured clear and coppery. A three finger beige head. The aroma was rye and caramel. Chocolate is tasted early and it seems to cause some muddying of the waters. Rye and caramel with spices. There is a long lasting bitterness from the hops. Some fruit and citrus, too. The chocolate kept getting in the way and perhaps it should have been left out. The finish had less chocolate and more caramel which was an improvement.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 hayduke (2963) - Eureka, California, USA - MAY 19, 2013
Share with Strykzone on Facebook Chat Pours a clear copper color with with a big bubbled beige head. Nose gives spices, chocolate, and flavor hops, and the rye is there. Medium plus body . Flavor is very unusual, being hoppy like an IPA, with chocolate like stout, showing fruit like a belgian, and the rye. Finishes kind of bitter like an IPA. This is a decent beer but the flavors don’t quite all hang together.
