COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Smooth Ryed has an appetizing mid-range amber color with an aroma that is derived from a pound per barrel of whole Centennial hops in the hopjack, kettled by UK Kent Golding pellets. Smooth Ryed is brewed with a variety of malts, including a spicy rye and chocolate malt.

12oz. single from Roths Vista Market in S.Salem. $1.39 Clear copper coloured ale with a nice sized, thick n’ frothy off white head. Strange sickly aroma , like vomit diluted and mixed with soap. Not good. Thankfully the flavour is better!, balanced, caramel malts, slightly toasted, some spicy rye and bitter dark chocolaty. OK on the palate i liked the carbonation levels. Not a bad beer but the aroma was just WRONG

Bottle from Hayduke. We had it together via facebook chat. This poured clear and coppery. A three finger beige head. The aroma was rye and caramel. Chocolate is tasted early and it seems to cause some muddying of the waters. Rye and caramel with spices. There is a long lasting bitterness from the hops. Some fruit and citrus, too. The chocolate kept getting in the way and perhaps it should have been left out. The finish had less chocolate and more caramel which was an improvement.

Share with Strykzone on Facebook Chat Pours a clear copper color with with a big bubbled beige head. Nose gives spices, chocolate, and flavor hops, and the rye is there. Medium plus body . Flavor is very unusual, being hoppy like an IPA, with chocolate like stout, showing fruit like a belgian, and the rye. Finishes kind of bitter like an IPA. This is a decent beer but the flavors don’t quite all hang together.

Clear amber pour with small white head. Aroma of hops, grain, malt and bread. Taste of rye malt, hops, slightly sweet caramel, faint fruitiness. Medium bodied, perfect carbonation, nothing really overpowering anything on the taste, well balanced, slightly peppery dry finish, good rye beer.

Kind of like an EPA with rye. The spiciness of the rye helps but doesn’t take away from the slight dullness in the flavor.

Pour is a amber with a small white head. Aroma is of a slightly spicy rye and not much else. Flavor is again an ok spicy rye with a little more of the hops showing up. Not enough umph in this one. An ok beer but not at good as others that I’ve recenlty had.

Pours a clear copper color with a medium fluffy white head that leaves good lacing. Smells of rye and sweet malt and some other funky off smell. Tastes of rye, chocolate and sweel malt with a slight hop finish. Mouthfeel is slightly oily and watery with decent carbonation. Overall this isn’t near as good as I was expecting. I was figuring it to be a little more hoppy because rye works well with hops. Decent for an amber but nothing impressive.

12oz Bridgeport bottle. Deep amber color, lacey white foam. Aroma of mixed berries & loads of fresh pine tips. Tastes kinda like soap, at first. Then some toasted malt flavor, hint of a rye tingle. Overall, very odd flavors. Tastes and finishes like a hearty Amber Ale. (3672)

This beer is amber in color, slightly sweeter than I would’ve liked with a lighter than average body. The rye comes through in a slight pepperyness that is its one real saving grace. Drank this during on of the many disappointing games of March Madness, 2013 at Brandon’s house.
