Commercial Description:
Stumptown Tart is more than just a pretty face. She’s a strong beer with a pink hue who packs a tart kick...beauty has never been more potent. This Oregon Marion Berry infused Belgian Style Ale is lightly hopped and aged in French Oak Pinot Noir Barrels. So, pucker up, there’s a new lady in town!

Bottle... Poured pinkish-red with a white head. I’d give it a 4 for appearance if the head didn’t fade so quickly. Aroma is citrusy and spicy, much like a Belgian golden ale. I think this beer is underrated as a fruit beer. It’s nothing too amazing, but in perspective of other fruit ales it’s not bad. Palate has a nice sizzle and an acidic undertone that coats the tongue. Berries are present but not overwhelming, and I think Pinot Noir aging has a nice effect. Much like a Sour Ale, very tart and sweet.

Bomber from BottleTrek. Ruby tinged amber color with a thin beige head. Aroma of berry. Near medium body with rather coarse carbonation. Flavor is wry berry with something like chewed berry seed. It’s a big flavored beer - like the old berry drinks at Knotts Berry Farm in So. Cal. It’s a bit one note, but it is certainly different, and I have no regrets at having tried it. Have to drink a bit before the oakish astringency is noticeable. And the berry is ever present.

(22oz bottle, thanks acrdz) Minimal beige head atop cloudy dark amber body. Aroma is moderately sweet, raspberry, some syrup, light sourness, caramel. Taste is moderately sweet, raspberry, some sourness, light cherry, lactose. Light dryness in the finish. Light-medium body, light stickiness, alcohol well-hidden.

22oz bottle pours cloudy rusty red/purple in color. Nice nose at first... somewhat tart and true to the actual character of the marion berries, light funky/tart notes of pumpkin spice and nutmeg along with the (more heavy) fruit and (lighter) wood/nut character. Medium body, moderately tart at first with some general berry flavors, a raw stem/hair flavor of raspberries and marion berries, but turns a bit pasty and filmy on the palate, with some strange apple flavors, developing an thinness to the body that kind ruins the whole experience. Basically I get none of the French Oak Pinot Noir Barrels that Bridgeport so proudly mentions on the bottle, but overall it’s not terrible.

22oz bottle, courtesy of acrdz. Thanks, Mike! Pours a murky, medium raspberry color with golden edges; off-white, pinkish head with patchy lacing. Fruit leather in the aroma, and red fruits, but also spicing quite similar to a pumpkin beer: nutmeg, even a touch of cinnamon; very odd stuff, but pleasant overall. Medium mouthfeel: red fruits, fruit leather, dulled berry character; definitely not overtly sweet and fruity, per se, but raspberry / cranberry notes; touch of tartness at the perimeter of the tongue; muddled stuff; less spice than the aroma suggests. Medium finish: dulled red fruits, toast, and bread.

Pours a distinctively pink color. i believe that i saw a marion berry seed pour into the glass from the bottle. The tart sour taste hits your palate right off the bat. Good with the hokah pipe.

Pours an attractive deep and bright red. Nose is fruity and a bit soapy. The flavor is sweet with berry tartness. Decent toasted almond nutty finish.
