11026 (1886), USA Apr 29, 2008 Strange. I don’t really see what is Belgian about this beer as listed on the label. Sort of a deep cranberry red color, purple hues. Moderately hazy. No real head formation, no retention and slightest bit of lacing. Aroma is pleasant, full of berries, slight hints of oak and wine. Medium bodied and a bit dull on the palate for "Belgian" styled beers. Tartness is there, probably from the fruit, a bit of red wine shows up a bit in the middle/finish. While it had its flaws I still enjoyed drinking this and am glad to see Bridgeport trying some new and different things in their brewing.
Skyview (3142), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA Nov 19, 2008 Picked up a single 22-oz bomber at Bottleworks in Seattle, WA and sampled during Minnesota first annual Sourfest. Pours a semi-clear salmon colored brew with a fast dissolving light pink head that dissipates to a fine off-white ring. Aroma of golden grain malt, some tart cherries, a hint of gouda cheese, and citrus zest. Taste is medium bodied, plenty of carbonation with flavors of mildly tart cherries and strawberries, some cereal grain, and some wood character. Finish is slightly watery, not as funk dense as most other lambics but still has some flavor. SudsMcDuff (1068), was CapeTown,SA-now Houston,TX, Texas, USA Oct 26, 2008 lots of berry funkiness in the smell .. pours a murky brown dark jack ruby colour .. lots of fruity tartness and some bitterness ... similar to an authentic kriek ... grade A lacing .. needs to be fuller to be great, but quite refreshing and strangely mellow ... ’’no more lies, i loved that bagel!’’ ... enjoyable sweet/tart balance , sourheads and lambic lovers might really like this .... MLS refs are a joke .. Beardface (344), Eugene, Oregon, USA Oct 19, 2008 Bomber. Strangely pink in hue, the fruit doesn’t really work for me in this one, it’s way too sweet and horribly unbalanced. Love the pin-up label though. BDR (1984), Roseville, Minnesota, USA Oct 17, 2008 A still strawberry red body. Tart cherry aroma. Faint cheese in there as well. The body was a bit watery with faint strawberry flavor. Rciesla (1571), Brick City, New Jersey, USA Sep 26, 2008 Bottle. Amber body with no head. Cherries and vinous pinot notes. Some oakiness with a berry finish.
