glkaiser (1029), Seattle, Washington, USA Jul 16, 2008 Hazy, water mellon jolly rancher red with small head. Vinous berry and slightly funky yeast aroma. Taste follows as the same....with some oak and minimal tartness. Love it, actually. Really wasn’t expecting much for some reason. The 8% is hidden well. Very dry finish. Angeloregon (2023), Portland, Oregon, USA Jun 4, 2008 Enjoyed several times since its release in the Spring of 2008. Poured a rich ruby-violet hue with a mild copper tinge. Nose of dry vinous marion berries. Full bodied flavor with mild sourness and prominent tartness. Not inducing puckering but with a noticeable bite. Semi-sweet fruit up front quickly overridden by pinot noir and a hint of dry oak. Some spicy hops calculated in the finish also. This beer is an amazing specimen of originality and uniqueness. Very enjoyable! MakeItDrinkIt (66), Portland, Oregon, USA Jul 14, 2008 Color is a pinkish light amber hue with little to no head. Aroma is tart and fruity - berries. Flavor is a very nice blend of sweet fruity / malty notes - light caramel and blackberries with just enough tart to balance it and leave a light sour aftertaste. Would be a wonderful ’beginner beer’ for those interessted in puruing Flemish beers. Well done! BückDich (4618), Boise, Idaho, USA Aug 7, 2008 Bottle: Pours a ruby caramel color with little head and no lacing. The nose is musky with some light vinegar and berry notes, husky malt, caramel and some chewy fruit notes. The flavor is tart with a balanced oakiness, some cobbwebb and yeast esters and a sour funky tail. A little unassuming at 8% and packs more complexity than I’d give bridgeport. A fine fruit beer, I’d even call it a pseudo fruit lambic. BrewDad (1805), Olympia, Washington, USA Aug 12, 2008 22oz Bomber - Gravity Beer Market - Olympia, WA
