Weíre celebrating three decades of craft brewing in Oregon the only way we know how, by brewing three distinctive beers. This dry-hopped pale showcasing crystal hops is beer #1 in our series - made to honor the hop revolution that ignited the craft brewing movement thirty years ago.

The winning beer in a 2014 taste competition. It has a real crisp flavor to it, a bit fruity or citrusy as well. I can see why it won.

It must be the crystal hops, Iím not sure, but there is some flavor that I really love in this beer.

Tap at the brewpub. Slightly hazy golden yellow pour with a dense coating white head. Soft grain nose. Dry to the taste. Soft light palate. A bit bready.

Piney hop aroma. Deep yellow color, white head. Slightly sweetness up front. Very citrusy. Lemon, orange and some piney hops. Bitterness is sharp at first then fades. Slightly watery mouth feel. Meh.

Pours a lightly hazy orange-gold, big head of foam(served near room temp), nice sticky lacing. Very aromatic, lots of citrus fruits in the nose that hint at a certain level of bitterness but some kind of sweet note or 2 also peeks through. The citrus is there for sure in the taste. I get oranges and lemon peel with grapefruit playing a lesser role. The malt comes across as semi sweet with more of a bready character. Pretty good balance here. Medium bodied with lightish carbonation...nice mouthfeel. a darn good APA here from Oregonís oldest craft brewery.

Bottle. Pours a deep gold with a high, white, fine-grained, lacy, sticky head. Nose is citrus, sage, rosemary, funk, and lavender. Some tangerine sweetness up front, then strong herbal bitterness kicking in; holds together quite nicely with an elegant balance. The mouthfeel is very rich and soft, but still has sufficient crispness to keep it sharp. The finish echoes the sweetness and bitterness in equal parts. Iím impressed.

12 oz bottle. Pours a hazy orange color. Very little head, no lacing. Aroma is caramel malt with some pine notes. Flavor is very hoppy, with a slight amount of caramel malt and toffee notes. Palate is a bit thinner than I expected, which makes it very drinkable. Overall a decent pale ale.

Very dry, hoppy and malty. Super bitter finish. Smells hoppy and malty. Pours copper with a thick white cream head. Had at home.

Originally rated on 5/10/14. Dank, almost skunky hops upfront, with some citrus coming in mostly lemons, a bit of malt pokes through. Murky orange/ yellowish brown body, the head is ringed and thin but leaves some spotty lace. Mouthfeel is a bit thin, but ok for the style. Flavor is a bit of a let down considering the aroma, some malts, and lemon juice. Overall a decent enough pale, easy to drink.

On tap @ Bridgeport. Orange pour with a white head. Nice melon and even slightly tropical hops. Maybe a little on the malty side, but a solid hop profile. The flavor is super juicy and tropical. A lot of mango and perhaps star fruit. A bunch of grapefruit juice as well. Nice beer.

It poured a clear golden color with a white head. The aroma was of straw, grapefruit, earthiness and some lemon. The taste was similar to the aroma with bread, lemon malts and a nice dry finish. The palate was light bodied and crisp. Thanks to Hayduke.
