Cask conditioned at The Albert Inn, Totnes, Devon. Brown amber with white head. Where the standard bitter was quite accomplished, this is a little raw. A sourish malt was flavour intially with a metallic, iron blood note. Some floral hop, but quite understated. Possibly work in progress, but not as good as the session bitter.

On gravity at the Portcullis, Bristol 10/12/09. Deep amber with a decent, off-white head. Earthy malt aroma with some hedgerow fruit and floral hops. Flavour of chewy, cereal malts with more fruit and a decent bitter finish. Good.
