This rebellious Brigand is a dry bitter, blonde beer that re-ferments in the bottle. It used to be amber in colour; now it is pale blonde thanks to the use of pale malts and pils malt as well as unmalted wheat. Brigand tastes full in the mouth with a slightly malty aroma. It also has a slightly malty taste with accents of spices and hops. The hop bitterness comes through in the finish.

Ingredients: water, barley malt (Pale, Pilsener), unmalted wheat, sugar, hops, yeast, antioxidant (ascorbic acid).

A basic blonde quaffable ale with session potential in spite of being strong. Alcohol detectable but not offensive. Nice and dry. Finishes clean. It’s not challenging. Not boring either.

Bottle @ Lowlanders, London. Cloudy golden colour with big slightly off-white head. Aroma is yeasty / banana / spices. Taste is pretty good with coriander / spices / malt / somewhat sweet too. Good beer.

Hazy golden beer with a large white dense creamy head that fades to leave a thin covering. Rich fruity, alcoholic aroma and a spicy alcohol taste....nice but just a bit too inbalanced....then again it is 9%.

Bottle. Deep gold colour with a pretty big, off-white head. Aromas of spice, yeast and some sweet malt. The flavour inclined to sweetness with a rather strong alcohol kick at the end. Not bad.

Almost smells of alcohol with a little banana - weird. Flavor is just dominated way too much by alcohol, maybe because it was a bit warm when I had it but still. Just not impressed.

Light unclear yellow with a egg white lasting & creamy head. Very yeasty, fruity & spicy aroma. Very lively carbonation... nearly sprinkly. Medium bodied. Fruity & yeasty taste. Light warmth. Good...

Pours a rich gold color with a healthy head that provides some lacing. Lots of bready, apple orchard aromas with some banana and woodsy spice. Plenty of fruit on the palate, black pepper, coriander, alcohol, lightly roasted malts. Reminiscent of a tripel, but with a more indelicate palate. Incorporates the high gravity well in the beer.

0.33 l bottle. Pours murky yellow body with small head. Almost perfect aroma of banana with some hints of orange... Flavor nice pleasant, but not so full. Well balanced, maybe just a bit sourish and a bit bitter the way reminding to triples. Leaves laced glass while drinking. Small carbonation. Finish is good but too short. And alcohol - 9% seems impossible, it’s not felt at all. Abbey double or strong ale, whatever...this is really a great beer.

Draft at The Maproom in Chicago. Poured a clear gold color. head was thin and white with good retention and lacing. Smelled of subdued clove and white wine. Dry and boozy with fleshy fruit, honey, and clove flavors. Pretty tasty.
