3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
A little disappointing Belgian Ale with a dominating sweet and malty character. Pretty full palate but too sweet IMHO.

Dark golden with small head. Sweet, little wheaty, little spice, too fizzy.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
The color off this beer is warmgolden with a coppery accent. It was not very vivacious. The nose off this brigand is dominated by malt aroma’s.It also has hints off accidity (green appel and lime)but also a sweet alcohol touch. The taste is full, dry and malty. It also has a reflex off woodtannins and a lime like impession in the afthertaste.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Some malt sweetness in the nose, floral hops, orange or citrus oil, witbier esters. Very pleasant. Medium amber clear with creamy off-white lacing head. Medium watery body with very active, but not harsh, carbonation. Taste is very sweet to start, but light like a heavy alcohol tripel. Candy sugar, fruity esters, and light acidity. Finish is sweet - sticks to the tongue, but also some drying bitterness. After remains sweet for a while, light acidity, and mild bitterness. Can taste/feel the alcohol. A dessert beer.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Gingery orange colour. Lasting off-white head. Typical spicy, bready yeast aroma with apple undertones - quite appealing. The flavours let it down somewhat. Vague spicy fruit, but tartness and alcohol overpower any subtleties. Nothing very noteworthy or complex. The finish is rather sharp, with an alcohol burn. Not a lot of body. So so. I think I would describe this as a Belgian Strong Ale (bracketed with Piraat, Duvel etc) rather than a Belgian Ale, which seems to be a bit of a catch-all category. 330ml bottle, from beersofeurope.co.uk

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
A clear orange/amber color with a medium foamy off-white head. This bottle clearly lists 9% alcohol.Malty scent with Oak and yeast tones to it. The wood and yeast carry over to the flavor up front with malty swwetness in the middle, a warming alcohol follow and a lingering moderately bitter aftertaste. A nice nightcap after a 15 hour day.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle Conditioned. BBE 04/06 Amber with white foam. Oily mouthfeel with prickly carbonation. Yeasty. Tree bark bitterness. Drinkable, but not great. A beer that doesn't grab the attention, and when you do take notice of it, there's not a lot good to say about it. You feel the alcohol on the swallow.

2.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
03/97 on cork, so if beer ages like a thoroughbred horse, this is 7 years old. Bright Orange, no head. Pungent aroma of pears, apples, wet stone and musty earth. winey mouthfeel. Some chardonay flavors, but also very watery. The aroma writes a check the flavor can't cash.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
03/97 cork date. This beer has the color of tarnished copper and very little head. What little head there was disappears almost immediately. The nose is quite stunning. Rich earth, musty peaches, lemony oak, anise and fresh apples. The palate is dry with baked apples, old oak, stale bread and musty lemons. The finish is dry and ends abruptly, but is strangely appetizing and refreshing.

2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Did not like this at all. Not your typical Belgian Ale. No head at all. Copper color, but kind of odd looking. Tasted like wine. Not very impressive at all.
