UPDATED: FEB 15, 2007 Draft. A golden ale with nice foam. The smell is slightly sour, and so is the taste. Not unpleasant, but not my cup of tea! Rerate, bottle 2007: I believe the bottled version is milder than the one I had on draft, and it is a far better beer than my previous experience.

Dorqui (2104) - Brescia, ITALY - SEP 25, 2005
Bottled, ABV 9,0%. Creamy and fine foam, good continuation and friability. Orange clearly color, elegant, a lot veiled and bubbly. Winy and much prickly scent. Fresh notes of yellow grapes and must, discreet alcoholic rumors. Extremely pungent and delicate taste, nearly white wine but much solid and of character. Smooth with bitter present only in the end. Also notes of wine cellar and clear mildews. Optimal.

The taste is sweet, fruity and spiced, with hints of cellar and some alcohol. A quite nice medium-bodied beer with a warming mouthfeel and finish. The finish is spiced and with some fruits as well. 33 cl bottle, bbe July 07. Dark amber with a haze, unstable creamy off-white head, little pearling, no sediment. Gentle but pleasant round aroma of caramelised malt and liqueur. Sweet and alcoholic taste with a bitter aftertaste with liqueur. Smooth, solid palate with some carbonation.

This is quite a potent Belgian Ale, coming in with an 8.5% ABV. It pours a clear golden color with a tall fizzy head that lingers just for a little while. The aroma is a warm toffee with a solid floral hopping, yeast, and sweet cherries and apples. The flavor is toffee with lemon zest and a blending of hop bitterness and peppery spiciness... very nicely done. The finish is pepper-hot with some alcoholic fire as well.

Bottle. Deep gold with a white head. Aromas are sweet brown sugar with lots of spices, yeast and alcohol. Flavours are sweet malts, brown sugar with hints of lemon. Peppery on the palate with a fairly bitter finish then lots of "warming" alcohol.

33 cl Bottle. No yeast in bottom. Golden colour with a fast disappearing foam. Very yeasty aroma, and some yeasty taste with notes of hops and you can feel the high alcohol in the aftertaste. An okey belgium ale but not one of my favorites. Try the donker and blonde much better.
