Incredibly refreshing with many complexities throughout. airen99 (20), Bellevue, Washington, USA Mar 1, 2002 Liquid mud, but oh... so good. One of the best trippel style beers I ever had. Great nose, better palate. And the 8.5% alcohol is just in the perfect range. Robert_Verloop99 (130), Utrecht, Netherlands Aug 17, 2001 KAggie97 (1886), Ugly, Hot, and Humid Spring, Texas, USA Jul 17, 2006 Corked bottle from a store in Crystal Lake, IL (Jason Vorhees was the cashier). Pours with typical Belgian ale flair: nice, frothy head, deep amber with reddish-yellow highlights, and lively carbonation. Aroma is slight banana with a quick injection of orange and wood. Nice lacing around the glass. A fat orange slice with a bit of yeasty peachy immerges almost immediately after the beer makes contact with the tongue. Balloon-like palate that starts small, expands in the middle, and slowly fades. Nice, nice feeling on the tongue. Lingering woody notes in the finish. Alcohol is a bit stingy, but it never detracts from the overall feel and taste of this beer. Exceptional Belgian; I dare say it’s one of the best I’ve had.
