Botella in Obatake mura, Yamaguchi. Clear deep dark brown close to black colour, small beige head. Aroma of roasty malt and soem chocolate, mild and soft like. Ok mouthfeel, bit thin. Pleasant flavour of roasted malt with chocolate and bit dark fruit, mild soft bitterness for a porter. Quite nice despite it’s a bit thin.

Draught at Brimmer Berr Box. Clear dark brown - offwhite head. Roasted. Coffee. Fruity. Nutty. Herbal hoppy. Some chocolate. Bitter notes. Grainy. Some toasted bread. Ok - a bit plain.

Tap at Popeye, Tokyo. Deep brown colour with no head. Mild coffee aroma. Weak mouthfeel. Flavour of coffee, chocolate, hops.

Draught at the Brimmer Beer Box. Roasted malts, nice hops coming through as well. Like other Brimmer beers, this is well balanced, quite satisfying. Restrained sweetness and velvety texture means this can be enjoyed all year round.

dark brown color. Excellent chocolately and roasted malt nose. Chocolate brownies fill with nuts in the mouth. Off sweet. Lingering chocolate nuttiness. Superb. Really nice porter

UPDATED: DEC 16, 2012 Soft roast, soft body. Moderately hoppy. Very much made for the japanese market. Some chocolate and coffee of course, though I prefer a roastier porter.

Tap at Brimmer Beer Box. Dark chocolate brown, small golden creamy head. Aroma is chocolate, milky, bit of roast, touch of fruitiness in the background. Taste is more stouty, to start off, not really any trace of the fruit, lots of chocolate. Further down the fruit arrives, blackberries, plums maybe. Less creaminess. Quite smooth, and pretty nice. Touch of roast there too.

Small beige head. Clear deep dark brownish red body. Roasty caramelly aroma with earthy notes. Dryish roasty caramelly taste with herbal earthy notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft mouthfeel. Dryish roasty burnt coffee aftertaste with chocolatey earthy notes. Very nice. Harmonic and drinkable. (0.25l draft at Popeye, Tokyo. Menu says 6%.)

UPDATED: JAN 18, 2013 Draught at Brimmer Beer Box. Nose of creamy chocolate, cocoa, nuts. Rich dark chocolate, nuts, and coffee flavors. Perfect balance. Nice body too. Good stuff. Much improved.
