UPDATED: AUG 15, 2008 Cask, Ship Inn, Hoylake. Very dark reddy brown colour with a creamy off white head. Great lacing. Aroma was dark chocolate and coffee tinged with the unmistakable whiff of a pecked ,seaweed bedraggled mussel shell lying on the shoreline of Hilbre island. Gorgeously smooth and creamy mouthfeel. Flavour perfectly balanced with roasty malt and coffee. A cracking stout, probably as good as I’ve had. Big up the OC massive !! from the shore of Machrihanish to the Red Rocks of Hoylake boyeeee!!!
