hopscotch (4433), Vero Beach, Florida, USA Mar 4, 2004 I'm pretty sure this beer is no longer brewed, but I came across a bottle tonight via a friend.
A very decent, malty, but well-hopped ale. Nice malt profile. I always liked the gimmick of stone brewing. A medium-bodied, inexpensive, cool and gimicky delight... in it's day. Time to retire this one, guys jeffc666 (1820), Fairfax, Virginia, USA Aug 7, 2003 This one was a surprise, some non-beer geel friends brought it over for a cookout. I had always been leery of it, typically gimmick beers suck. Well it turned out to be OK, not great but OK. Decent hoppy flavors with good malt body and carmelly flavors. I have not seen it in years and asume that it is gone forever. Holdwine (821), Beertimore, Maryland, USA Feb 8, 2003 Great if you can find it anymore. If you get past the hype of an "old technique" you get to taste a truly unique ale> Don't know if it is the brewer (now gone from Frederick) or the hot stones. Yes, there is a delicious toffee sweetness to this ale. Suttree (2275), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Apr 29, 2002 A moderate hop flavor, followed by a caramel flavor. Very interesting. Try it if you can find it.
