COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Formerly Rethymnian Blonde.
Note: Name changed (temporarily?) because the authorities suddenly decided that they couldn’t use geographical names for beer until the law that allows that is out.

Brink’s blonde 33cl swingtop bottle in Athens. Looks good but somewhat faint aroma with overly mild and simple flavor. Bready aftertaste with faint herbal and spicy hops.

Bottle. Pours a slightly golden yellow with not much of a head. Aroma is corn, vegetal. Taste follows along the same lines. Light, no carbonation. Drainpour.

330 ml bottle. BB 28/06/15. (Inka) Souda, Greece.
Hazy pale yellow colour with a tiny white head. The aroma is vegetables, mild yeast and some medicine notes. Is it really supposed to be like this? The flavour is even worse. Yuck! This has gone bad.

abemorsten (3086) - Mosterøy, NORWAY - OCT 4, 2014
330 ml flop top bottle at the Italian restaurant at Avra Hotel, Kolimbari, Crete. Sparkling misty golden body with a small white head. Yeasty grassy nose that reveals wooden notes as it heats. Yeasty, grassy fodder bitterness that gives way to a most welcome malt presence in the finish. Light to medium bodied. Light doughy texture. Worked well with the pizza I had.

Well, I hope I get the chance to rerate this brew at some time... this 0,33l bottle was ruined, a vegetable/ corn/ sewer aroma and taste, very very unpleasant and not drinkable. Guess the clip-lock was somehow broken.

Bottle at the Alcanea hotel, Crete. Very hazy pale gold beer, small white head. Palate is dry.and crisp. Very dusty grainy malt. Sourish dried fruits. A touch of sherbet zing saves it from complete disaster. Dry finish.

.33l bottle, thanks to BalkanMac. Peachy lemon, cidery pour. cloudy. very eggy aroma, some lemon. Soapy malt, honey sweet and wheat. tangy yeast. creamy feel, some sour water finish. has something going, but not very good.

(.33 bottle (as 4%) at Beer Time, Athens, where I’d asked for, and was charged for, the Reth. dunkel)
Fairly dark gold-orange, hazy.
Has a bit of that Latvian aroma and is mainly malt-oriented in the nose. (5+)
Taste has a bit of ’zest’. Slightly acidic and a bit too carbonated.
Finish tastes lagery and only gets more so.
Unusually, Phil did not share this.
