2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
330 ml flop top bottle at the Italian restaurant at Avra Hotel, Kolimbari, Crete. Sparkling misty golden body with a small white head. Yeasty grassy nose that reveals wooden notes as it heats. Yeasty, grassy fodder bitterness that gives way to a most welcome malt presence in the finish. Light to medium bodied. Light doughy texture. Worked well with the pizza I had.

Well, I hope I get the chance to rerate this brew at some time... this 0,33l bottle was ruined, a vegetable/ corn/ sewer aroma and taste, very very unpleasant and not drinkable. Guess the clip-lock was somehow broken.

Bottle at the Alcanea hotel, Crete. Very hazy pale gold beer, small white head. Palate is dry.and crisp. Very dusty grainy malt. Sourish dried fruits. A touch of sherbet zing saves it from complete disaster. Dry finish.

(.33 bottle (as 4%) at Beer Time, Athens, where I’d asked for, and was charged for,
the Reth. dunkel)
Fairly dark gold-orange, hazy.
Has a bit of that Latvian aroma and is mainly malt-oriented in the nose. (5+)
Taste has a bit of ’zest’. Slightly acidic and a bit too carbonated.
Finish tastes lagery and only gets more so.
Unusually, Phil did not share this.

Bottle. Thanks to the parents. Pours clear yellow with a medium, frothy white head. Aroma has sweet malts, light sulphur, citrus, mild vegetables. Medium carbonation, thin and watery. Flavour has weird dusty off-notes, herbal, bog myrtle. Not good.

1.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
Lys gul uklar farge. Tynt hvitt skum. Lukter korn og sitrus. En ganske flat øl og har en merkelig smak/ettersmak. Denne anbefaler jeg ikke å kjøpe!

1.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Bottle at home. Pours a slightly hazy yellow colour with a very small off-white head. Aroma of straw, sweet corn, cooked vegetables and some citrus. Too much DMS in my opinion. It continues in the flavour and tastes a bit grainy. A touch of hops in the end. Has a pretty flat and watery mouth feel, and a light bitterness. A boring and a bit strange lager. Feels like a bad homebrew.
