An American-style India black ale typically has medium high to high hop bitterness, flavour and aroma with medium-high alcohol content, balanced with a medium body. The style is further characterised by a moderate degree of caramel malt character and medium to strong dark roasted malt flavour and aroma, though a high degree of burnt roast malt character should be absent. Fruity, floral and herbal character from hops of all origins may contribute to aroma and flavour.
Our limited release IBA utilises five malts and six hops, presents you with a hop aroma of tropical fruits with subtle hints of coffee and chocolate. On the palate you meet a mild roasted character with more coffee and chocolate notes, complemented by tropical fruits and a pleasantly delicate bitterness which lingers for quite a dry finish.
Alcohol content is at 6.5%. In all, this is a highly interesting, yet very approachable black ale!
