On tap in the Bristol tasting room – the color is dark amber and the light tan head is barely there. Big butterscotch and caramel aroma. The flavor is of whiskey, raisins, alcohol, and caramel. I liked it so much I brought home a growler!

On tap @ Falling Rock poured a cloudy brown with a small amber head. Aromas of carmel, toffee, fruity, and light cognac. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of cognac, carmel, toffee, oak, with a smooth, lihgering sweet finish.

Growler thanks to BeerandBlues2. No head, dark amber with a slight haze. Aroma is crisp, floral, sweet. Taste is buttery, nutty, slight BA taste. No alcohol. Finish is sweet and dry. Minty. Very smooth.

Draught. Pours nutty brown with a patchy off-white head and spotty lacing. Aroma is banana, bubblegum, malt (caramel, meal) and yeast (sweat, horse blanket). Chewy caramel and toffee malt, buttery yeast, butterscotch notes, medium sweetness, low acidity and bitterness. Medium bodied and creamy palate.

Beer pours a clear, dark brown color with a tiny, white, frothy head. The aroma is moderately malty with a note of toasted grain, light notes of chocolate and caramel; Heavy diacetyl and salty brine/olive, trace of scotch. The flavor is moderately acidic, lightly bitter with an average-length, moderately acidic, lightly sour, lightly sweet, buttery finish. The body is light, the texture is watery and the carbonation is soft.

Ernest (5183) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - MAR 4, 2006
Direct from growler, thanks Brad! Head is initially small, frothy, light brown, mostly diminishing. Aroma is moderately malty (caramel, cookie), with a strong note of diacetyl, light note of whisky. Flavor is heavily sweet, lightly bitter. Finish is moderately sweet, lightly to moderately bitter. Medium to full body, syrupy texture, soft to lively carbonation, lightly to moderately alcoholic. Lotsa butter, not much else. Not pleasant.
