Deliciously fruity, hoppy & refreshing, fantastic summer ale.
A real showcase of the fabulous Soracchi Ace hop, Acer has beautiful aromas of citrus, berries and elderflower, with a very fruity palate and a lovely refreshing citrus aftertaste leaving you wanting more.

Aroma: Faint aroma of toffee and citrus.

Appearance: Clear copper body with a medium white head. No visible carbonation. Great lacing.

Taste: Red apple, lightly roasted malt and caramel.

Palate: Thin to medium body with a very oily mouthfeel. Flat carbonation.

Overall: A light, tasty Bitter with a good body for such a low ABV.

Soracchi Ace always tastes a little ’flabby’ to me, lacking the cut and zing of some hops, which is fine when you have other things to keep the palate occupied. In this case though the beer, while very drinkable and balanced, does seem rather dull. The elderflower notes dominate, to the detriment of anything else. This isn’t a disaster as such and this is a good session beer with it’s light body and booze content. Would do well at a BBQ on a summer’s day. Otherwise, it’s all a little middle-of-the-road.

That works for me. I quite like Sorachi ace. Soracchi. Chi. My chi. do you hwave chi? Does everyone have chi? Chicken? What is yours. I’d like chickens. Eggs. I like eggs. Current favourite is soft boiled. Why do I bother?

500 ml bottle.
Pours a hazy orange golden colour with a white head. Aroma of fresh hops, heavy caramel and some gooseberries. Flavour of fresh floral hops, caramel, honey and gooseberries. Medium bodied, soft carbonation and a floral, honey sweet and hoppy finish. Decent.

Bottle at home. Aroma is grassy , zesty lemon hint of earthy. Orange in colour with a slight haze and thin white head. Flavour is big on that signature sorachi ace hop cahracter, which i love. Firm piny bitter finish that lingers in the mouth. medium sweet. caramel malt somewhat balances the bitterness. This is a fantastic session beer packs a huge punch for 3.8%er. Great.

Cask. Pours golden amber with a floral citrus aroma. Light sweetness gives way to medium bitterness. Light body accentuates the hop flavor. Nice long bitter finish. Overall an excellent low-alcohol beer, probably my favorite in the sub-4% range.

Like the refreshing pacific hop flavors but bit too much diacytel for me and columbus bittering hops do not really accentuate the flavor hop that I enjoy. Easy drinker and refreshing beer though. Lawnmower beer for me if this was sent to the States!

Cask by handpump at Bon Accord, Glasgow - clear golden amber, thin off-white head, minimal flowery hop aroma, oily resin-like malt with a medium citrus finish, slightly over hopped
