Cask& bottled, special;
A marriage of American and Belgian brewing techniques, using a special strain of Belgian yeast and brewed using traditional open-top fermenters. This beer has a distinct dryness with a peppery, spicy finish and a big hoppy twist. We think it’s one of the best beers we’ve made.

Beese (1783) - Watford, Hertfordshire, ENGLAND - AUG 4, 2014
Bottle from the Red Squirrel Chesham Brewery Shop, sampled at Fergus’ tasting on 26 July. Poured a hazy golden colour, with a dense white head and some lacing. Aroma of Belgian esters, peal and bready malt. Grassy hop flavours, with some tangerine and brown sugar. Finish was tinned fruit, almond and chewy grain.

Bottle shared at the Watford tasting. Pours hazy gold with a frothy white head. Mild Belgian yeast in the nose, some bread, slight grains, orange rind. Medium sweet flavor with dry, grainy bread, some yeast, orange rind. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Light warmth on the finish, more grainy bread, some pine, a bit of dirt, more citrus rind. Not bad.

Bottle at the Watford tasting 26/07/14. Thanks Beese. Translucrnt golden coloured pour with a lasting thin white head with some loose big bubbles. Aroma is wet grassy hop Belgian yeast, green Nobel hop. Flavour is tangy orange, straw, drying rough grainy bitterness. Wet grass, slight cheesey hop and subdued Belgian character. Palate is drying.

Tap (Birofilia2014, Zywiec)
Sticky pale ale/american pale ale aroma, mashy malts and resiny hops. Lemon detergent. Also tastes that way. Resiny, but no fullness. If anthing it’s a thin palate. Some vegetal apects. Messy, and yeasty, but not in a good way. Belgian + IPA = suck. These guys do great stouts, we think it’s one of the worst beers they’ve ever made.

Davros (1939) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - JUL 16, 2014
Pours amber with a fading head. Nose shows Belgian phenols, fruity hops, a soft fruity Brett note and sweet clean malt. Flavours include more spicy phenols, slight sweet malt, soft fruity confectionery. Finishes very dry. Could use a bit more carbonation.

Bottle at home from grape&grind
hazy mid amber with pillow y white head. Mandarinand gooseberry intermingled with fruity yeast esters on the nose. Moderately full body combats fruity kiwi hops and ester rich Belgian yeast character.drinks about5% but warmth arrives later. Some bretty barnyard manure charcacter riffs off of fresh lychee in a robust finish

500ml bottle. Pours a hazy medium gold, with lots of sediment and a large off-white head, which lasts quite well and leaves decent lacing. Spicy Belgian yeast, pine and floral hops and light caramel malt make up the aroma. Pine and floral hops up front blend nicely with spicy yeast. Caramel malt and Belgian sweetness in the mid-palate give way to spice and pine hops and Belgian yeast in the finish. A very nice Belgian IPA.
