Clear medium orange amber colour with a average, frothy - fizzy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, amp stain - fusty, light to moderate hoppy, orange - citrus. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration, tea, fruity. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20120502]

Cask@Reading Beer Festival 2012. Amber colour, small off-white bubbly head. Aroma is fruity, floral, grassy with some mild yeasty and herbal notes. Flavour is fruits, wood, some quite bitter notes as well as earth. Also mild yeastyness.

On tap at the Euston Tap. Light haze on this gold amber beer. Short white head. Light dry palate. Mild fine carbonation. Tangy tea malt, bitter. Citrus orange comes through. Juicy and medium bitter. Dry finish.

Cask conditioned at The White Horse, Leamington Spa, Warks. Copper with off white head. There is a really pleasing depth to this bitter, rich, dark malts, a hint of chocolate, some roastiness then a lingering dry bitterness, pretty hoppy, leafy and lingering. A very decent beer, served really well.

Cask at The White Lion, Covent Garden, London. Clear deep amber beer with a somewhat bubbly offwhite head. Malty fruity aroma, toffee notes, citrus, peach, bready notes, a bit floral. Fruity citrus flavor, dishwater notes, toffee, some hoppy bitterness, perfume, some hay, a bit sourish.

Cask at the Euston Tap, London. Pours clear, vibrant gold with a medium, frothy white foam head. Toasty dough in the nose with subtle orange. Light to medium sweet, quite doughy with hints of butter, pine, grass, faint citrus. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Light sweet finish, some faintly tangy citrus, light toast, light toasted grass. It’s OK. The diacetyl character fades as I drink. But still, the overall character is actually a bit wimpy and the beer is kind of a let-down.

Cask, gravity at the Real Ale Bar, WOMAD Festival, Wiltshire, Saturday 28th July 2012 Pours reddy/amber in colour with a filmy white head. Dry and bitter, its a furry bitterness, malty with a hard tangy fruity unripe plum skin fruitiness. Good. A6 A3 T7 P3 Ov13 3.2

Cask-conditioned at the Eldon House, Bristol 25/02/2012. Deep copper in colour withy a decent, off-white head. Aroma of citrus fruit, cereal malts and leafy hops. Flavour had robust malts, a hint of sweetness, lime fruit and a dry finish with a hint of pine. Very enjoyable.

Cask at Holburn Whippet. It pours clear amber with a thick yellow-white. The nose is earthy, spice, leather, apricot, white wine aspect and a touch of tangy citrus. The taste is earth, leaf, spice, varnish, pithy citrus, orange, tangy fruit, resinous hops, lewith a dry, bitter. Medium body and soft carbonation. Pretty tasty, well crafted beer.
