500 ml bottle.
Pours a black colour with a small off-white head. Aroma of roasted malts, some licorice and tar. Flavour of rich roasted malts, licorice, tar, grassy hops, mild sweetness and hay. Medium bodied, dry mouthfeel and a dry, malty and high bitter finish. Very well balanced and enjoyable. Pretty close to a dry stout.

Leighton (6945) - London, ENGLAND - MAY 17, 2013
Bottle at Bruce’s, London. Massive thanks to Jack for tracking down the ever-elusive 5% version. How does he doe it? Pours clear brown with a frothy beige head. Chalky, dry and dusty cocoa in the nose. Light sweet flavor, some sweet cocoa, toasty bread, light dirt. Light bodied with fine, massaging carbonation. Dirty earth to finish, dry cocoa, toast. Very nice stout. Good balance, reasonable depth.

Second up out of the 12 stouts selection crate....creamy, very deep ruby appearing pitch with a well-retained yellow-tan collar. Decaying leaves, iron, puffed rice, light burnt toast and sulphur aroma. Good solid, well-roasted, chocolatey dry stout with hints of soapiness, (very) dark orange chocolate and roasted nuts. Something slightly maritime and salty in there too. Wholesome, easy-drinking, well roasted stuff.

Bottle from brewer 12 Stouts 2012 141212
Black, massive tan head that dissipates to thin layer, some lacing
Aroma of roasted malts, touch of burnt crust, hint of yeast
Taste as aroma, lots of roasted malts, dab of burnt crust, touch of bitter chocolate, rich dark malts, some brown leaves
Palate - Soft carb, light to medium body, quite a smooth texture. Finish is considerably dry, quite strong roasted malts and light burnt crust in the linger
Overall - It’s exactly what the bottle says - a dry stout. It’s pretty good too and gets better with the drinking
