3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
50 cl bottle vintage 2012 @ home, BBE 15.11.2014
Aroma is quite light with some caramel, toffee and hay. Flavour has English hops, toffee and some biscuits. Also hints of vanilla and wood. Finishes with grainy notes and some gooseberry bush. Too English for me but decent anyway.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from Cotteridge Wines, Birmingham. Ruddy red/orange, with dusky fluff top. Smells tart, like pickled citrus fruits. From the smell I wasn’t sure I’d like, but it’s rather refreshing. Bitter, hard malt, with some relieving chubby-leaved UK hop. Good.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Tried as part of the "beer vs wine and cheese smackdown" at cheese scool @ the Ethicurean on 30/10/11.
Great ruby-brown pour with aroma of digestive biscuits and caramel. Good sweet body with decent level of bitterness to prevent it from becoming cloying. I expect this will develop well on aging. Alcohol well disguised.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
2011 bottle - thanks Dave! Deep red-brown with a thin cream head and a musty woody nose with hints of old wine barrels and maybe a little dark dried fruit. Palate has caramel, red fruit and some more barrel notes, but also with a yeasty and oxidised note. Interesting and reasonably complex, but not a good result overall.
