COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle conditioned; Special.
Orange zest & juice have been added to our Chocolate Stout just prior to bottling to give a fresh orange aroma & flavour to the beer. The classic chocolate orange combination work incredibly well together in this rich, smooth stout. The orange character adds a refreshing aspect to the beer.

Bottle. Jet black with a slight tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, plain chocolate and bitter orange. Flavour had plenty of chocolate upfront and some supporting sweetness, before orange took over, with slightly oily notes and a dry finish. Very enjoyable.

Bottle at Scopey’s Pre-CBC tune-up. The beer pours thick, deep brown with a small light brown head. The nose is sweet dessert liqueur, with some notes of syrupy fruits and chocolate covered nuts. The taste is sweetened coffee, some hazelnut. You do get some light hints of orange peel before the long roasted coffee finish takes over. The beer is full bodied and soft. Overall, it’s not dissimilar to the other stouts I’ve tried from this series. Decent.

Bottle at my Pre-CBC Tune-Up Tasting. It pours very dark brown, with a thin beige head. The nose is chocolate, orange and roasted malt. The taste is orange, roasted malt, chocolate, smoke, chewy malt and caramel. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Well balanced. Definitely one of the better BBF stouts.

Bottle at home shared with my dad 21.12.11 ordered direct from Bristol Beer Factory. Pours black with a light beige head. Mmmhh.. this is smooth and the orange is there on the nose and also in the mouth, ok it may not be quite Terrys Chocolate Orange’ territory but it getting there. The orange is actually reasonably subtle, integrating rather than dominating, tasty and working well in this smooth, creamy, indulgent, chocolatey delight. b] A7 A4 T7 P4 Ov15 3.8

[500ml bottle courtesy of cgarvieuk, as part of ’12 stouts of Christmas’] Brownish black pour, thin tan head. Aroma of orange oil, rather than zesty citrus. Mostly chocolate on the flavour, possibly a little orange at the end. Everyone loves Chocolate Orange as a combination – so I was really looking forward to this. It tastes alright, but maybe slightly disappointing as both constituents are quite mild in flavour [20122011]

12 stouts of Christmas tasting with Craig and Rich. Pours a dark brown colour with a lacy, light tan head. Upfront aroma of orange oil, chocolate, alcohol and caramel. Similar flavours with a long Terrys choc - orange linger. Just a little soapy to finish. Mild carbonation and an oily mouth-feel.

Bottle at home as part of my 12 stouts of christmas ... light orange ... soft chocolate ... nice but theres something not quite right with the nose ... deep dark roast malts ... big chocolate ... more bergamot than orange ...little bitter orange ... nice but not stunning
