COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Mainly available bottled. Has been seen occasionally in cask.
Strong Golden Ale full of citrus hop flavour. Pale, Cara, Crystal and Wheat malts and English Pioneer and Goldings hops give a lovely citrus aroma and a well balanced flavour.
NOTE: Previously made with Maris Otter pale malt & Carapils malt and only one type of hop - Pioneer for bittering and aroma.

Bottled. Pours a clear, bright amber with a small, off-white head. There’s biscuity yeast and some malt on the nose, and a citrus/lemon start and dry, biscuity finish in the mouth. Clean and refreshing. Not bad.

Bottle from Ales By Mail [250214]
Golden, clear, frothy white head
Aroma - touch of citrus zest, light grassy
Taste - Bitter citrus zest, soft grassy hops, pale fruity malts, astringent
Palate - Soft carb, light to medium body, oily texture. Finish is very dry and very bitter zest, too bitter and astringent
Overall - Most disappointing beer I’ve had from this brewery

500 ml bottle.
Pours a clear golden colour with a white head. Aroma of sweet malts, grass and weak buttery notes. Flavour of sweet malts, mild grassy hops, straw and some butter. Light bodied, medium carbonation and a light grassy finish. Decent but boring.

Appeared quite carbonated on pouring but the bubbles soon gave way to a reasonable size head and a nice golden colour. This drink went down quite well bu it wasn’t as smooth on the palate as i had hoped for. Still finished the bottle though!

500ml bottle. Pours gold, diminishing head. Slight aroma of apple. Mouthfeel thin to medium. Bitterness medium. Overall: A worthy beer. Appropriate bitterness, combination of hops which go together well.

500ml bottle (Snow@ChrisO)
Slighly papaery bitter. Dull. Earthy bitterness in the finish. Not aromatic enough for a golden - where’s the citrus from the goldings gone?

Bottle at ChrisO Snow tasting, thanks to Fergus, 20/01/13. Light golden/amber with a thin off white head that clears to the edge. Nose is pale malts, light fruit, touch of sugar. Taste follows pretty boring in all honesty. Medium body, soft carbonation, light bitter finish. Drinkable average fayre, a bit boring, certainly the least complex and most basic beer I’ve had from BBF.

Bottle at Chiso’s snow tasting. Golden yelow. Thin white head. Noble hop grainy, nutty aroma. Fim bitter finish. Grainy flavour a little stale.

Well-balanced nose with biscuity malt overlain with orange citrus notes. Pours a lovely deep gold with a fluffy head and even lacing. The taste maintains the balance with a steady bitterness in harmony with some gentle honey sweetness and the whole underpinned by biterness from the hops which extends long into the finish. Fresh and moreish. Very nice.
