Strong Golden Ale full of citrus hop flavour. Pale, Cara, Crystal and Wheat malts and English Pioneer and Goldings hops give a lovely citrus aroma and a well balanced flavour.
NOTE: Previously made with Maris Otter pale malt & Carapils malt and only one type of hop - Pioneer for bittering and aroma.

@ Grain Barge, Bristol. Amber. Lightly spicy, malty accent. Light spice and caramel. Ok, slightly boring, a basic bitter.

Clear god amber beer, little white head. Smooth palate, moderate carbonation. Sweetish stout - subtle esters underneath providing a generic sweetness. On top are mildly bitter marmalade hops. Slightly tangy orange finish. Not bad at all.

Bottled, 500ml at The Pinto Lounge, Banbury. Gold with white head. Initial clean, crisp malt note is followed by a hint of caramel, there is also a touch of marmalade sweetness and orange peel. The real hoppiness doesn’t show through too much, but it is certainly drinkable.

500ml bottle (Snow@ChrisO)
Slighly papaery bitter. Dull. Earthy bitterness in the finish. Not aromatic enough for a golden - where’s the citrus from the goldings gone?

DruncanVeasey (6112) - NUNEATON, Blue Square Premier, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - JAN 13, 2011
Bottle. Bright gold with a low, subsiding collar. Good marmalade tang on the nose; pale biscuity malts, almond sniffs. Bright and tangy with stewed tea notes, orange-accented hop, hints of leafiness and fresh, clinging malts suggesting cashew and malted milk biscuits. Pretty juicy.

downender (5187) - Bristol, Gloucestershire, ENGLAND - FEB 21, 2009
500ml bottle at the Grain Barge, Bristol. Deep gold in colour, with a decent, foamy off-white head. Aroma of apricots, oranges and a touch of caramel. Flavour began with some sweetness, before a spicy hop kick and decent, dry finish. Good.
