COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This Imperial Stout has spent the last 6 months ageing in oak taking on the famous characteristics of Glenlivet whisky. The Stout’s rich, smooth, roasty flavours combine with the whisky character to produce a complex beer, layered with big flavours. Enjoy as an after-dinner treat or as an accompaniment to full-flavoured cheeses.

Bottled at oh6gdx’s birthday bash at chriso’s. Very black, small head. Fruity licorice aroma. Mid sweet with full body and rounded mouthfeel. Loads of licorice, restrained oak and smoke, some chocolate. Peppery finish.

Pours red tinged black brown with a thin mocha head that disappears to a lacing after 30secs. On the nose we have sherry, vanilla, sultanas and a touch of vanilla. Fairly gentle carbonation and very thick in mouthfeel, Its very sweet with plenty of dried fruit with the whisky following on in behind bringing a warming complex slightly dry finish.

Bottle at Pat’s birthday tasting at Chriso’s. Very dark brown, almost black with a tan head. Nose is treacley dark chocolate, black sugar and very subtle sweet whiskey grain. Taste is earthy, minerally with touch of sweetish whiskey and chocolate finish.

Bottle at Chriso Patriks Bday tasting. Black beer. Tan head. It has a subtle whisky aroma that builds on the swallow. Its decent. Can see that the whisky will grow as it ages.

Bottle at home as part of the 12 Stouts of Christmas. First rate! Pour is pitch black, light tan head fades to nothing leaving no lacing. This beer means business. Nose is soft chocolate, prominent whisky but not in a boozy way, tangy roast malts. Palate is rich and sweet up-front, dark chocolate, spice, big but rounded peat whisky notes, some ashy roast, just the tiniest hint of booze on a sticky sweet finish but it’s all so rounded. Oh wow. What a beer!!
