Bottle. It’s a hazy, golden-orange beer topped by a creamy off-white head. The aroma is mostly on the orangey, citrusy side, with a little malty touch. Quite bitter on the palate, with oranges and pine cones. Full to medium body, semi-dry and with a nice carbonation level. Lasting bitter finish with oranges. Straight forward and far from complex, but easy drinkable and quenching. 140228

Cask; amber; moderate white head; big tropical fruit aroma, particularly grapefruit; taste is similar, majoring on the grapefruit which is thankfully ripe and full rather than sharp and astringent like so many duff examples of this style; also some peppery white grape; quite a bitter finish; a decent example of a style I’m prone to dislike.

500ml. Strong aroma of citrus and spice. ap: dark gold, thick white head. Clear. ta: hoppy. Medium sweetness and bitterness. pa: good body, appropriate carbonation, lengthy hop finish. ov: worthy American pa. Unusual in that there’s a lot of spice to compliment the citrus.

Cask at Barley Mo. It pours clear deep amber with a medium beige head. The nose is caramel, toast and candied peel, stewed orange. The taste is soft, caramel, orange, mandarine, apricot, marmalade, with a bitter-sweet finish. Medium body and soft carbonation. Smooth and quaffable. Pretty tasty.
