Gravicask (PBBF2012, Fri)
Herbal grassy aroma. Rich orange, small brief head. Fairly aggressive bitterness, grassy, a bit astringent and grapefruity. Does have some sweetish malts though. Soft palate, carbonation low. Long grassy bitter finish. A pretty good old-fashined bitter bitter.

Cask, The Pub, Leicester. Amber gold with an off-white foam. Aromas are caramel and toffee with leafy, green hops and clean, woody yet soft pine. Floral with spiced oranges and fruit tea. Biscuit with mellow grapefruit. Flavours are caramel and biscuit with mellow lemon and pithy grapefruit. Woody and leafy with herbal aspects. Quite green and spicy with grapefruit bitterness and a dry finish. Very good.

Cask, handpump at The Live & Let Live, Cambridge, 03.06.11 Pours mid amber with a white head leaving a light filminess across the top of the beer. Fruity and with a goodly dose of hops on the nose and soft pithy grapefruit and in the mouth with a juicy refreshing grapefruit bite. A great beer to try alongside the Oakham Scarlet Macaw and whilst I preferred the latter I think that this would be easier to drink a session of, very good beer. A7 A4 T8 P4 Ov16 3.9

Cask at the Sussex Arms, Twickenham Green - 19/05/12. Golden amber with a thin to medium white head. Fruity hops and sweet malt on the nose, clean fresh aroma. Caramel malt, biscuit, bready, a little yeast, fruity hops - all well balanced. Medium bodied, bitter finish - pleasant drinking!

500ml bottle. Mid-clouded orange gold with a whipped egg white top. Fruit Salad chew, melon, Feta and lime peel aroma. Monkey nut, dunked biscuit and almond maltiness lurking beneath slightly sharp limey hop and bristling leafiness. Lean and balanced.

Cask at the Gallows Bird XVI Real Ale Festival, Espoo, Finland. Clear deep golden colour with almost no head. Window cleaner, floral hops and... hmm... Not much more really. Flavour is sweet hoppy with lots of dryness... that's a bit strange. Hoppy. Thin. One dimensional. Drinkable. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

downender (5913) - Bristol, Gloucestershire, ENGLAND - JUN 18, 2011
Cask-conditioned at the Colston Yard, Bristol 15/05/2011. Pale amber with a decent white head. Big hoppy aroma of grapefruit, oranges and pine resin. Flavour was also dominated by citrus fruits and pine, with a touch of sweetish malt providing some balance, before a very bitter finish with accompanying pine. Excellent.

(Cask at Southampton Arms, Kentish Town, London, 19 May 2011) Amber colour with foamy, off-white head. Fruity, hoppy nose with grapefruit, orange peel and generous doses of fresh hops. Fruity, hoppy taste with notes of grapefruit, pine needles, orange peel and lots of fresh hops in the finish. Medium body, with balanced sweetness, fairly bitter. Nice one.
