Cask (Lady Greys, Newcastle) - Amber in colour. Melon, mango, grapefruit and a hint of glue (!) in the aroma. Hoppy, tangy and fruity taste with melon, grapefruit and pineapple detected.

Cask @ Old Gate, Hebden Bridge. Deep golden with a small creamy head. It has a fuller bodied tropical fruit aroma and taste, so much so the nose is very sugary. Slightly soured.

Copper color, gloriously creamy looking white head. Really excellent appearance. The nose is mostly juicy hops, grapefruit etc. The taste light sweet. Pleasant bready malts present. The mouthfeel’s light-medium. Overall nice work.

Bottle from Beers of Europe. Poured a slightly hazy medium amber with a frothy white head and a few bubbles. The aroma is big citrus fruit hop, pine needles. The flavour is medium bitter with a light malt, hop spice bitter palate and long fruity bitter finish. Medium bodied with lively carbonation. Really enjoyed this one. Very refreshing indeed and lots going on. For an APA is this is very good indeed and if Three Floyds had brewed it, people would be saying it was a whale i’m sure!

Bottle at home. Earthy floral hop nose. Light golden yellow colour. Persistent white loose head. Flavour is nutty malt and rounded earthy floral hop. Very drinkable. Soft carbonation.

(Cask at Gallows Bird Real Ale Festival ’13) The beer poured deep golden and clear. Its head small and white. Aroma had fruitiness, sweetness and malts. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were fruitiness, sweetness, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was hoppy and bitter. A good but a bit unbalanced beer.

Hand-pulled half-pint in the Pheasant, Wellington Shropshire on 28th April 2015. Good looking deep amber body with enough hops to float a Battleship. I like West Coast style APA’s and this had just enough bitterness to give it that sort of taste, too hoppy for some I’m sure, but it worked for me.
