US Style pale ale. Very distinctive pale ale that we have hopped continuously throughout the boil.

(Cask at Gallows Bird Real Ale Festival ’13) The beer poured deep golden and clear. Its head small and white. Aroma had fruitiness, sweetness and malts. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were fruitiness, sweetness, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was hoppy and bitter. A good but a bit unbalanced beer.

Bottle. Golden colour with a white head that quickly diminishes. Aroma is mainly fresh hops with notes of citrus and resins. Flavor has a decent bitterness, very fruity, notes of citrus, tangerina and grapefruit. The final has a decent bitterness with a dry sensation on palate.

Cask; amber; moderate white head; big tropical fruit aroma, particularly grapefruit; taste is similar, majoring on the grapefruit which is thankfully ripe and full rather than sharp and astringent like so many duff examples of this style; also some peppery white grape; quite a bitter finish; a decent example of a style I’m prone to dislike.

(cask@Rake Bar’s Bristol Beer Festival) Pours amber, thick white head and good lacing. Caramel malt and citrus hop balance/blend is good. Not bad.

Earthy hops balanced by a sweet finish, decent beer but I found it just a touch cloying.

Cask at Euston Tap, 31st May 2012. Looks like a nice pint, good lacing. Taste could be smoother, not the best

Gravicask (PBBF2012, Fri)
Herbal grassy aroma. Rich orange, small brief head. Fairly aggressive bitterness, grassy, a bit astringent and grapefruity. Does have some sweetish malts though. Soft palate, carbonation low. Long grassy bitter finish. A pretty good old-fashined bitter bitter.

On tap at Euston Tap, pours a hazy golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out piney hops, metallic notes and biscuity malt. Flavour is along the same lines, with metallic notes and a tangy hop content. Balanced decently but not overly thrilling.
