From the bottle, pours fairly flat without a head. Aroma of chocolate and roastdd malt. Sweet throughout, but not cloying because the beer is well balanced by the dark malt bitterness. A prper winter beer.

Gravity dispense at the Prince of Wales, Farnborough BF - 12/10/12.
Dark Mahogony brown approaching black with a frothy coffee head - this looks the part !
Dry roast malt nose with tones of milk chocolate and a little coffee.
Full on milk chocolate taste with particular emphasis on the milk. If you are lactose intolerant don’t go here ! Rich creamy milk flavour combined with a bag of crushed maltesers!
Smooth drinking medium bodied beer with soft carbonation.
Overall this was good stuff, never had a milk stout so milky! A little oversweet at times. I’ll definately seek this out again, but would limit myself to a half.

August 20, 2012 - handpull at The Southampton Arms. Ruby-black pour, thick-looking, decent foamy tan cask head. Smells and tastes of mocha and malt beverage, very little alcohol - sort of sweet and cloying, lactic even. Slick, mildly carbonated, finishes quickly with a sweet cocoa finish. Wouldn’t drink it often, but it seemed okay - I would like to see more sourness though, less candy bar chocolate.

Keg at Holyrood 9a. Black with an off-white head. A thick flavoursome stout. I just think that Milk stouts are not for me. The sweetness was difficult for me to stomache.
