3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle direct from the brewery. Pours a near black, with tinge of treacle-ruby colour at the base of the glass. Head is thick and long lasting, cream in colour. Natural carbonation medium to low, could be lower but pretty bang on. Aroma of dark chocolate, coffee, and sweet dirt. Mouthfeel smooth and a little sticky. Slightly sweet with caramel notes but not too sickly. Nice level of bitterness that lingers and balances well the sweetness of the beer. Great example of the style.

UPDATED: SEP 1, 2014 Bottled: good fucken stout ,not meant for dissecting !Good Shit !!! R8 a grimy Stout with a rich palate that just feels meant for drinking heavily and swilling. Subtle being head above black . Milky ,roasted and rich nose suggesting chocolate. Creamy oats ,some dark fruit ! It was Friday night and this was smooth as fuck ,with dividends of burnt roast and rich milk chocolate malts textures . I could drink this till I couldn’t remember my name.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. It pours a very dark brown body, clear-looking and with a small, dense, dark beige to light tan head. The aroma has some roasted malts and bonfire hints, with milk chocolate and a pleasant hoppy touch. It’s medium bodied and with a very soft carbonation level. Some licorice notes in the flavor, with roasted malts, bonfire and milk chocolate, and a nice hoppy bitterness in the back. Lasting roasted finish with piney and citrusy hops blending in. Sure a nice one, very tasteful and at the same time easy drinkable. 140816

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Black with a tan head. Smells of deep roast, coffee and dark berries with chocolate. Medium roast with a dry berry finish. The smell is deeper than the taste. But nice nonetheless.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours black with a small light tan head.
Nose shows roasted malt, cocoa, milk chocolate. Appetising.
Flavours follow along the same lines: dry roasted malt, cocoa and a little underlying sweetness from the lactose. Very easy-drinking stuff.
Body feels a little watery.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
500ml bottle. Pours an opaque black, with a smallish beige head, which lasts quite well and leaves good lacing. Malted milk, caramel, milk chocolate and roasty malt make up the aroma. Mild herbal hops up front give way to sweet malted milk and caramel leading into the mid-palate. This offers mild cappuccino and chocolate flavours, with roasty malt and a little caramel sweetness in the finish. You need a sweet tooth for this one, but it is a very nicely balanced sweet stout. Quite enjoyable.
