Bottled, 500ml from Bellingers Garage, Grove, Oxon. Clear red amber with chunky white head. Nicely put together bottled Best Bitter, sweet, full malt character, fruity, a little grainy / mashy, then a subtle but noticeable hop giving reasonable bitterness and an apricot note. Good quaffable beer.

Cask at Bristol’s Beerd, 8th May 2012. Not bad, standard clean bitter, a little under whelming on taste but good for a session beer

Bottle from Nina’s. Pours a copper colour with a beige head that dies away to lacing. Aroma of toffee, caramel and alcohol. Similar toffee flavour upfront with light bitterness and an oily mouth-feel. Moderate carbonation. OK.

Cask conditioned handpump Salmon Leicester. A clear amber brown coloured beer with a nice whitish head and lacing. Sweet with caramel and toffee notes. Leafy hops. The sweetness is pleasant not intrusive. Good at what it does.
3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Pudding (25) - Birmingham, Bedfordshire, ENGLAND - FEB 11, 2012
Toffee caramel malt. Syrupy taste or to put it another way, good body. Hops play second fiddle in this one. Another good beer from BBF (bottle).

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 jackl (727) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - DEC 11, 2011
Moreish. Deep chestnut bitter. Grassy hops with some sweet raisin flavour in there somewhere. The moutfeel’s a bit watery and sub-par. Overall, I’m slightly underwhelmed by this offering given the strong general reputation of the brewery.
3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 shoulderbroken (587) - Tokyo, JAPAN - OCT 16, 2011
Bottle at Mason and Taylor. Amber coloured with a small white head. Aroma is full of toffee and caramel. Quite malty. Slightly spiky in the mouth and taste has lots of malt and a tiny bit of spice. Nice!
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 RichardGretton (3758) - Leicestershire, ENGLAND - SEP 27, 2011
Bottle. Brownish beer with a fairly strong head. The aroma is roasted and well hopped, and the flavour is toffee, hopped and roasted with a reasonably long yeasty and dry finish. Overall a very nice strongly flavoured bitter.

[cask at the Grain Barge, Bristol] Sampled as part of the £7 ‘pie and a pint’ deal at the Grain Barge. Unfortunately it poured totally flat, the lovely dark chestnut colour untroubled by any trace of a head. That said, it was quite fantastic – the classic Fuggles aroma paired very well with the Challenger hops on the palate, and with the slight traces of ripe fruit, vanilla and toffee in the aftertaste, seriously drinkable [17102009]
