Spot on saison with a rocking aroma and the yeast lends it a spicy character. Cloves are present. Maybe too much of that element. Some diacetyl. Overall not bad. Easy drinker. Malt is a bit smokey.

From the bottle. Pours slightly cloudy amber, nice head and well carbonated. Grassy lightly hoppy aroma. If Id tasted this blind Id swear this was a wheat beer ... has citrus peel and a bit of sourness before a gentle bitterness at the end. Jolly good stuff.

downender (5908) - Bristol, Gloucestershire, ENGLAND - NOV 15, 2012
Bottle from Gardiners & Haskins, Bristol. Golden in colour with a decent, lacy white head. Sweetish aroma of apricot, cut grass and peppery hops. Flavour had some slightly yeasty stone fruits, cereal malts and a touch of honey, before a moderately bitter, vaguely spicy finish, with some warming alcohol. Good.

stravale (1883) - Near Carrick-on-Shannon, IRELAND - OCT 18, 2012
Bottle @ Caley, Edinburgh 171012 BBF Tap Takeover
Orange, hazy, frothy white head
Aroma - soft cereal, light sour, nice pale fruit aroma, soft apricot, some funk
Taste - soft sourness, wheat, nice spicy cereal malts, soft farmyard, light hay, smooth flavour, good saison
Palate - soft carb, thinnish body. Finish as main flavour, smooth, refreshing, little creamy
Overall - I thought this was a nice example of a saison
