Pours a dark copper colour, a little hazy.
Big tropical fruit notes in the aroma.
Tastes fruity but with a good malty base, bitter finish.
Enjoyed this a lot.

500ml bottle, Rehills, Ncl. Looked quite heavily sedimented in the bottle, but poured a good clear coppery-red colour, with a frothy head. Alcohol is immediately noticeable, with some spirit characteristics. Pronounced hop aroma, bordering on oily, with an earthy and dry palate. There’s almost a hint of sourness, which I didn’t expect and there’s some fruity wine notes later on. Fairly complex and heady, didn’t taste like the finished article to me, but looing at the scores and other reviews, I mybe had a not quite up to the mark bottle....

This is really nice. I’m not sure why I’m not giving it a higher overall score. Nice citrus hop hit on aroma and taste. But I’m not. It’s getting 3.8
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 Benjii (2395) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - APR 24, 2012
Bottle from The House of Trembling Madness. Pours a beautiful, albeit slightly hazy, amber colour with a rocky beige head and turbulent carbonation streaking. A big grapefruit aroma upfront before pineapple, caramel and alcohol. Lovely and bitter with similar flavours and a dry finish. Heavily carbonated with a foamy mouth-feel. My kind of beer.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 jamestulloch (102) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - APR 13, 2012
Aroma: Quite a sweet smell - honey and butterscotch.
Appearance: Deep amber body with yeast flecks. Bubbly white head. Light carbonation. Slight lacing.
Taste: Very different to the aroma - spicy malt, pineapple fruit and mouth-puckeringly bitter. It’s quite heavy and harsh - not the most easy drinking IPA I’ve tasted.
Palate: Medium bodied with an oily texture. Gentle carbonation. Lasting bitter finish.
Overall: Packed full of hops, but there’s very little balance.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 BeerCast_Rich (1197) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - APR 4, 2012
[500ml bottle, Beer Ritz, Leeds] A hazy golden beer with a decent white head. Slightly spicy nose that mostly features grapefruit aromas, with some pineapple. Get more pineapple at first on the flavour, before the bitterer elements come through on the finish. It’s great, but maybe there’s just something lacking – could be that ease of drinking as the grapefruit piles up – to make it a real belter. Only a minor quibble however, it’s still very nice indeed [28032012]
