3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours dark amber like an imperial. Nice head. Good rings. Aroma of tropical fruits - mango, peach, citrus. Not sweet on the tongue. More refined. Nice bitterness, not too sharp. Medium carbonation which heightens the dry aftertaste but it’s not too dry to take away from overall balance. Good body, not quite full bodied but getting there. Oily texture. Really nice beer. Well balanced.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Lovely soft hazy orange pour with long lasting slim head. Soft citrus and pleasant tropical fruit aromas of mango and orange with mild spicy hops, although not as pungent and pleasing as some of the competition. Good smoth tingling carbonation that pairs nicely with the smooth body. Initial brief malt sweetness followed by hints of mango and citrus, however lacking the boldness one would hope for. Lingering dry resinous bitterness.

Bottle from a friend (Portersteken). Hoppy and flowery smell. Similar taste. Noticeable but mellow bitterness. Nice thirst quencher during a hot day.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle at Evening Star, Brighton. It pours cloudy golden orange with a thick white head. The nose is orange, passion fruit, tangerine, mango and juicy pine. The taste is juicy orange, tangerine, grapefruit, earthy, dough, straw, crisp bitterness and juicy pine with a lingering dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Really rather delicious! Well done BBF!

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
500ml bottle from drink store. Slightly watery amber pour, rocky off white head, lasting. Resiny hop, spruce, tropical fruits and a little biscuit malt in the nose. Flavour is more summer fruits, mellow, with a decent hop kick. Soft mouthfeel, low carbonation. Finish is resin hops. Really well balanced. Lovely and fresh too.

Caramel hued pour with a frothy off-white head, good lacing. Lovely IPA aromas of pine, citrus, toffee, mandarin, grapefruit. Deliciously sweet with hoppy astringency standing. Good carbonation.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Ambery orange body with gradient white head. Firm polleny fizz on the nose, very bright with little room for anything fruity. Smooth and biscuity initial taste, nods of tightly twined hops. Looses something in the middle before sliding into a breezy hefty bittered finish. Pricks of ppassion fruit and chunks of white and pink grapefruit. Combo of bitter zing and juiced up refreshment are bang on. Could have drank a pitcher of this.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
My Bottom Line:
Pink grapefruit pulp is calmly sprinkled onto flower petals before letting this American-style IPA get awash in coniferous bitterness.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A lofty head of foam settles atop the veiled amber.
-Malts support here, but don’t do much more. This is a hop showcase of a brew.
-The mouthfeel is not trying to emulate that of a cask’s.
-The body is lean and the carbonation frothy.
-Aroma is not enticing enough for a US-style IPA.
-Hop flavours could be brighter.
