Bottle @ home. The pour’s deep brown with a medium tan head that takes its sweet time to develop. The nose is definite Belgian yeast, ribbon candy sweetness. Some notes of earthy toffee and medium roast coffee. Hints of vinous chocolate-dipped red berry. The taste is definitely interesting - the belgian yeast gives a bubble gum sweetness that blends well with rich berry flavors. Chocolate cake, rich roasted malts. Mildly nutty, creamy finish. Luxurious mouthfeel. Fruity, pleasant. Nice, soft body. Really well executed and flavorful stuff. Overall, wow, this was much better than I thought it would be. By far the best Bristol beer I’ve had.

At just on cool and into a snifter. Inky black with fine carbonation and a rocky, inch of off-white foam atop. Plums and dark berries amid notes of milk chocolate, molasses, road tar and liquorice on the nose. Thick, luscious, silky smooth mouthfeel. Long smoky, bitter malt and hop finish. Ample chocolate, liquorice and woody notes with a vinous sharpness and tang to the side of thee tongue. Alcohol is quite pronounced but adds flair. this is moorish stuff. A slow sipping stout. Nice!! Pours a pitch black color, topped with a rather small beige colored head. Mild roasty malts in the aroma, some mild notes of chocolate and very pleasant and easily picked up chocolate and vanilla aromas. Taste has some chocolate sweetness up front, followed by mild roastiness with some minimal bitterness from coffee in the end. Very creamy and thick, full body with some minimal alcohol taste in the very end. That’s my kind of stout.
